Introduction
Rossmax non-contact temple temperature thermometer uses an infrared detector to detect body temperature from the temple for adult and child in the hospital, home or public place. This thermometer could also detect object temperature.
- The quality of the infrared temple temperature thermometer has been verified and conforms to the provisions of the EC council directive 93/42/EEC (Medical Device Directive) Annex I essential requirements and applied harmonized standards. Comply with ASTM E1965-98(2016).
- This thermometer converts the temple temperature to display its “oral equivalent” (according to the result of the clinical evaluation).
Please read the instruction manual carefully before using the product and be
sure to keep this manual.
Function
Temple Temperature| The thermometer has been designed for practical use. It’s
not meant to replace a visit to the doctor. Please also remember to compare
the measurement result to your regular body temperature.
---|---
Object Mode| The object mode shows the actual, unadjusted surface
temperatures, which is different from the body temperature.
It can help you to measure any object other than body surface, for example the
baby’s milk.
Fever Alarm| If thermometer detects a body temperature ≥37.5°C (99.5°F) there
will be four beeps sound with flashing reading to warn the user for potential
fever.
Setting your thermometer
- Open the battery cover.
- Press “ON/OFF/Memory” button to power on the device.
- Enter the setting mode by pressing the “ ” button to switch Temple/Object temperature, Celsius /Fahrenheit scale, and adjust Bluetooth and beep sound in order.
- Change the measuring target between the temple and object by pressing the “ ” button. After setting a new measuring target, the measuring site icon on the display will also be switched accordingly.
- Change the °C and °F by pressing the “ ” button again to enter the set- ting mode. Press the “ ” button to switch the corresponding measuring scale. The measuring site icon on the display will also be switched accordingly after a new measuring scale is set.
- After adjusting measuring target and scale, press the “ ” button again to move to the next setting of Bluetooth and beep sound.
- Adjust Bluetooth and beep sound as described above, using the “ ” button to choose whether automatic Bluetooth data transfer and beep sound is activated (Bluetooth symbol or deactivated (Bluetooth symbol ( ).
- Your thermometer is ready for measurement after all symbols appear or pressing ON/OFF/Memory button again.
Note:
- The initial setting is Temple temperature mode, Celsius scale, Bluetooth and beep sound activated as default.
How to measure temple temperature
- Always make sure the probe is clean, and without damage.
- Press “ON/OFF/Memory” button to turn on the device.
- Make sure the measuring site icon is shown on the display before taking measurement.
- Vertically aim the thermometer at the temple with a distance of less than 10 cm. If the temple is covered with hair, sweat or dirt, remove the obstacle from the temple to improve the measuring accuracy.
- Press the “Measuring Trigger” button to take temperature. Measurement is complete when you hear a long beep sound.
- Read the recorded temperature from the LCD display.
- If Bluetooth has been activated, the data is automatically transferred to the App after successful completion of the pairing process, please see Data Transfer via Bluetooth.
How to measure object temperature
- Press “ON/OFF/Memory” button to turn on the device.
- Make sure the measuring site icon is shown on the display before taking measurement.
- Once aiming at the measured target, press the “Measuring Trigger” button to take temperature. Measurement is complete when you hear a long beep sound.
- Read the recorded temperature from the LCD display.
Note:
- Applications include temperature measurements for Water, Milk, Cloth, Skin or other object.

Data Transfer via Bluetooth
Pairing the device with your Smartphone
To begin using Bluetooth for the first time, please visit the website at
http://www.rossmax.com for the initial set-up instructions.
- Download and install the applicable APP onto your smartphone.
- To pair this device with your smartphone, turn on the device, Bluetooth and the App of smartphone, and follow set-up and pairing instructions.
- The Bluetooth symbol ( ) will flash on the display that indicates the pairing is proceeding.
– If the pairing is successful, the Bluetooth symbol ( ) will illuminate on the display and the current measured temperature will automatically be transferred to the App.
– If the pairing has failed, the Bluetooth symbol ( ) will keep flashing until the device shuts off automatically after 1 minute, and the current measured temperature will not automatically be transferred to the App. Please re-pair this device with your martphone.
Notes:
- Unpairing your device will not delete the data from the App.
- If you re-pair your smartphone with the device, all prior reading history stored on the phone App will be retained.
- Bluetooth data transfer will reduce the battery capacity.
- Electromagnetic interference: The device contains sensitive electronic components. Avoid strong electrical or electromagnetic fields in the direct vicinity of the device (e.g. mobile telephones, microwave ovens). These may lead to temporary impairment of measurement accuracy.
Memory function
There are total 9 set memories for measurement records. If the reading of the
thermometers is within the normal temperature range of 34 °C to 42.2 °C (93.2
°F to 108°F ), when the measurement is done, the measurement data is saved
into memory.
- Press “ON/OFF/Memory” button to repeatedly recall each temperature memory.
- All readings of temple temperature currently saved in the device can be transferred to the App using Bluetooth after successful completion of the pairing process. Follow App instructions, and the Bluetooth transfer starts automatically.
Care and cleaning
- Storage temperature range: It should be stored at room temperature between -25~+55°C, (-13°F~131°F) RH ≤85%, 700-1060hPa.
- Keep the unit dry and away from any liquids and direct sunlight.
- The probe should not be submerged into liquids.
- Please check the device if damaged once it falls. If you can’t make sure of it, please send the complete device to the nearest retailer for re-calibration.
- Holding the thermometer too long may cause a higher ambient temperature reading of the probe. This could make the body temperature measurement lower than usual. Please try not to touch the thermometer probe part for avoiding the incorrect reading.
Installing Batteries
- Open the battery cover: use thumb to push battery cover out.
- Install or replace 2 “AAA” sized batteries in the battery compartment according to the indications inside the compartment.
- Replace the batteries in pairs. Remove batteries when the unit is not in use for extended periods of time.
- Place back the battery cover.
You need to replace the batteries when
- Low battery icon appears on the display.
- The ON/OFF/Memory button is pressed and nothing appears on the display.
Caution:
- Batteries are hazardous waste. Do not dispose them together with the household garbage.
- There are no user serviceable parts inside. Batteries or damage from old batteries are not covered by warranty.
- Use exclusively brand batteries. Always replace with new batteries together. Use batteries of the same brand and same type.
