IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read and follow all safety information and instructions. Keep for future reference.
For household use only.
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
- Read all instructions before using this heater.
- This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
- Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
- Always unplug heater when not in use.
- Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater, or return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
- Do not use outdoors.
- This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
- Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
- To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
- Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
- To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
- A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
- Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
- If there is a loose fit between the plug and the socket or the plug becomes very hot, the socket may need to be replaced. Check with a qualified electrician to replace the socket.
- It is normal for the plug and cord to feel warm to the touch. A plug or cord which becomes hot to the touch or becomes distorted in shape may be a result of a worn electrical outlet. Worn outlets or receptacles should be replaced prior to further use of the heater. Plugging the heater into a worn outlet / receptacle may result in overheating of the power cord or fire.
- The output of this heater may vary and its temperature may become hot enough to burn exposed skin. Use of this heater is not recommended for persons with a high sensitivity to heat or an inability to react to avoid burns.
- Ensure the heater is on a stable, secure surface to eliminate the potential of tipping it over.
- Make sure that no pieces of polystyrene or other packaging material have been left between elements of the appliance. It may be necessary to pass over the appliance with a vacuum cleaner.
- Do not attempt to modify or repair the product by yourself. Doing so could void the warranty and cause damage or personal injury. Only a repair technician may disassemble or repair this product.
- Choking hazard – This remote-control unit contains a small battery. Keep the remote control away from children and do not swallow the battery. If the battery is swallowed seek medical advice at once.
- If the machine is not working as it should, has received a sharp blow, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, do not use and contact Customer Support.
- NOTE: There may be a trace of smoke or odor when the unit is first operated. This indicates that a drop of oil fell on the heating coil during the manufacturing process. It will quickly evaporate and should not re-occur.
- IMPORTANT – This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to rig this safety feature.

FAQs
What are the dimensions of the space heater? Is it really only 6″ wide?****
Yes.
how long does it take to get rid of the smell?****
Depends on the kind of smell and size of the room. Also, what heater/air power you use. A near impossible question to answer precisely.
Can I put it directly on wood floor or will the heat damage the floor?****
I use it on my wooden floors and it doesn’t do any damage at all.
Does this model also let you mute the beeping noises that come from the buttons/remote when changing settings? I know a couple of the other models do.****
I do not use the remote control, however on it is a place that looks like a speaker and a small x next to it. This may be the mute button. I do not have a battery in it, otherwise I would check to see if it is. Sorry, hope this helps a bit. I am actually using mine at the moment.
Can a space heater be left on continuously?****
Modern space heaters can be left on for extended periods of time unattended, even while you sleep. Make sure one of the three main testing agencies has approved your heater.
What causes my DREO space heater to intermittently shut off?****
Your dependable space heater is turning off due to overheating. It’s possible that you’ve used it so frequently over the years that the filter is clogged, preventing it from drawing in cold air.
When not in use, should space heaters be unplugged?****
Space heaters should never be left alone. Before you leave the room or go to bed, turn off and disconnect your space heater. Upgrade to newer, safer space heaters from outdated models.
What is there a space heater that can’t do?****
Keep the space heater at least 3 feet away from anything that could catch fire, including curtains, furniture, and bedding. Perhaps even extra space is required for a taller heater. In a workshop or garage, keep heaters away from things like paint, gas cans, and matches. When you leave the room or get into bed, turn it off.
In what location should a space heater be used?****
Under windows is the greatest area for heaters. Wall strip panel heaters, which are lower and longer options, are another option if you lack the space for panel warmers. By putting heaters under the windows, you can warm the chilly air that is coming in through the glass and prevent draughts along the floor.
When they become too hot, do space heaters turn off?****
In the event that the heater was to overheat, auto shut-off helps reduce hazards and damage. The heater will automatically turn off when the temperature within the unit gets too high.
Why do heaters abruptly stop working?****
As a result, if your furnace frequently turns on and off too quickly, your thermostat may be damaged or faulty.
Why does my heater continue to run even after I switch it off?****
Look for the fan settings on your thermostat. It should say “ON” and “AUTO,” respectively. If your furnace doesn’t seem to be turning off, check to see if the blower setting on the thermostat is set to “ON.”
Can a space heater be left on continuously?****
Use space heaters exclusively as supplemental heat; do not warm bedding, cook food, dry clothes, or thaw pipes with them. Run it briefly. Your heater shouldn’t be left on continuously; it should only be used for brief periods of time. Switch it off.
What ignites a space heater’s flame?****
Heating equipment positioned too close to combustible objects, such as upholstered furniture, clothing, mattresses, curtains, bedding, paper, or flammable liquids, is the main cause of space heater fires.
How long can you leave a space heater on?****
Modern space heater technology makes it possible to operate them for extended periods of time.
