NST Audio will launch its new VMO16 16-in 16-out audio installation processor at Integrated Systems Europe 2020 in Amsterdam on February 11th. Designed using NST second-generation DSP designs, the VMO16 brings no-compromise audio performance and system control to Dante networked audio installations. The UK- based designer of high-end audio processing devices has applied its extensive expertise in live sound filters and dynamics algorithms gained on concert tours and large festivals to this new install-dedicated rack-mount processor.

“Our D-Net control software for PC, Mac, and iPad gives complete control over ethernet and wi-fi,” said NST Managing Director Dan Cartman. “The VMO16 is also fully compatible with our VR1 PoE (Power over Ethernet) remote control panel for simple, flexible user control, while control via third-party systems such as Crestron™ is available via our simple ethernet control protocol.” Dan Cartman, Managing Director NST Audio. The VMO16 provides a total of 16 discrete inputs, and a full 16 x 16 matrix which allows any Dante network inputs to be routed to any of the 16 analogue outputs. All outputs are equipped with 16 bands of parametric EQ, 48dB/octave high pass and low pass filters, and up to 1.3 seconds of delay. In addition, high-performance two- stage PXL limiters are incorporated to give high-performance loudspeaker protection.

The VMO16 is robustly housed in a 1U 19” lightweight rack mount chassis using a smoothly radiused, machined aluminum front panel, providing sectioned windows distinctively grouped into four banks of channel status indicators, and a master section containing Dante connectivity status and power indicator.

Industry-standard Phoenix-type 3-pin 5.08mm pitch connectors are provided on the VMO16 rear panel for all analog connections, while the four GPI connections allow configurable actions such as fire alarm mutes and preset recalls. Up to 30 presets can be stored with recall options allowing selective recall combinations of input, matrix, and output sections.
