FAQs
does this work without software?****
The GSX 300 does work without software (it will process the sound coming through it), however all the functionalities and benefits can be adjusted inside the software, so it wouldn’t make sense not to download it.
Will this fix the static sound my mic produces? I have the epos 602.****
This unit has mic volume issues as well. Wouldn’t recommend it for microphone troubles. I’ve been dealing with their support unsuccessfully for software and mic issues.
Will this work with the Sennheiser pc 373d – 7.1 surround sound gaming headset? the headset is 50 impedance. what benefit would I get with this unit?****
Consider this an upgrade to your model’s stock USB surround sound card/dongle. We’re not talking about audiophile headphones that won’t run straight out a motherboard’s soundcard. This is the perfect for you.
Does the device and the driver work on windows 11?****
The software barely works on windows 10. I don’t recommend using it.
When are you adding Linux support? I cannot enable surround on Linux. I have used windows to set the gsx-300 button to switch but this doesn’t work.****
All special features and extra sounds experience are based on the application and button is not analog/separate, from the application.
Will this support any headset?****
The GSX 300 supports most headset with 2x 3.5mm jack. Unfortunately, the Gaming Suite software only supports EPOS gaming headsets.
Is this compatible with a Bayer dynamics headset?****
As long as the Bayer dynamics have 2 3.5mm jack for both mic and audio, it works. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use the EPOS Gaming Suite software as it’s only compatible with EPOS gaming headsets.
Sennheiser 560S 120-ohm headphones not a good pairing?****
The GSX 300 recommended impedance scale is from 25-75. For that reason, it will not be a good pairing, but I suggest getting the GSX 1000 instead, as it works with headsets all the way up to 150-ohm impedance.
can this replace onboard soundboard to power through speakers? Not headphones****
Unfortunately, the GSX 300 doesn´t support speakers. What you´re looking for is our GSX 1000 and GSX 1200 which both supports speakers, and allows you to switch between headphones and speakers with a single touch.
Can you control the chat audio in contrast with the game audio?****
You must use the Windows sound mixer to do this.
I see this 24bit\96khz through usb. does it mean that it’s uac1.0 compatible? (usb audio class 1.0), or its only uac 2.0 compatible?****
The DAC is compatible with both UAC 1.0 and 2.0. The 96kHz limit comes from the chipset, and not compatibility from the UAC. You can therefore use both 1.0 and 2.0.
Does this support Dolby Atmos?****
more than 3 people were on the mayflower.
Does this support a 4-pin headset jack without a splitter?****
It is possible to use a 4-pin headset jack without a splitter, however we don’t recommend using this kind of connection, as it has an impact on the sound quality and functionality of the Smart Button.
is it amp? like give me louder sound than on board audio?****
Not only does it make your headset play louder, the GSX 300 also gives you a lot of other options – Surround Sound, Side Tone, frequency settings, and much, much more. Please see more on our website (epos audio) for further clarification.
Do these works well with the Sennheiser PC38x?****
Those are 28ohm so I would say that yes, it should work well. I use the Coolermaster MH-751 and Phillips Fidelio X2HR and they both sound great. It could use a bit more power but I’ve been happy with it.
