Frequently Asked Questions
Can I go back the way I came on a hike?****
The watch supports Google Maps. You can go back and retrace your steps if the hike you took was on a trail that Google Maps can see. This might also be possible using a third-party hiking app. You must be within Bluetooth range of your phone and have a signal to use any of these capabilities (or LTE phone with a line and signal).
Has this watch a fall detection feature?****
Yes, however it needs to be changed such that it can constantly detect falls. By default, the watch only notices falls that occur when exercising. Go to Watch Settings > Safety and emergency > Hard fall detection from the Wear app, then change “When to detect falls” to Always.
How long will the battery last?****
I simply removed it from the charger. It is fully charged and indicates that the battery will last for 1 day, 4 hours. That is with the most of my battery- saving features enabled. The battery on this watch is terrible, which is the only thing that disappoints me about it. For a watch I want to wear to bed to track my sleep, 28 hours is not much.
Why can’t I choose the band size? If not, what band size does Amazon often ship for 44mm, 40mm?****
I own a Galaxy Watch 5 in 40mm. The band has a 22mm width. The watch 5 fits the bands from the galaxy watch 4. Compared to the one that comes with the watch 5, they are longer.
Just to be sure, is this watch unlocked and does it come with a charger and a Bluetooth device?****
It is unlocked if you buy the Bluetooth, sure. Any Android phone running version 8 or higher can be used to pair with it. It doesn’t function well with non-Samsung phones; to download the data, you must repeatedly uninstall and reinstall the software, and it doesn’t ring for calls or texts on non-Samsung phones.
Is a home charger included?****
Yes, the USB cord is included, but the wall-plug block is not included.
The battery may it be changed?****
A manufacturer should be contacted for the solution to that excellent inquiry.
Can I use the watch without Bluetooth or Wi-Fi? Only the health applications interest me; I don’t care about text alerts.****
Most likely yes. Because everything is built into it. Actually, you may use your smart watch instead of your phone while working out. Just be sure to download all of your necessary apps to your watch before leaving your phone at home. You could even put some music to it. And you can take it with you. And make sure the Galaxy Health app is set up on your Galaxy Watch so you can monitor everything while you’re out and about.
Can you use this watch to establish up service and make calls without a phone nearby?****
Yes. But more services come at a cost. because will have a separate line. Alternatively, you might mirror your phone service to the watch. You can then respond to calls made to the phone you left at home while you are on the go. But keep in mind that the carrier will charge you more for this feature.
Does it work as a heart rate monitor with the Pelaton app?****
I believe the Samsung Health App is a requirement. But I do think the cardiac monitor will function once it is on your wrist.
Do you receive an hourly walk reminder from this watch?****
I’m not sure if it happens every hour, but when it detects that you have been sitting for a while, it encourages you to “be active.”
