THURAYA IP Commander
Install SIM Cards
Refer to callouts in illustration above.
Open access panel and install voice and IP SIM cards:

1 | Remove six screws from access panel |
remove the six screws holding the side access panel in place.
2| Remove access panel| Remove panel and set aside.
3| Remove gas- ket if needed| If the gasket remains completely in place, don’t
remove it. If it does come loose, set it aside.
4| Install SIM- card| With the panel removed, note the three openings on the
side of the enclosure. The Primary SIM card goes into the center open- ing
(labeled PRIMARY).
Insert the Primary SIM into the center open- ing slot. The SIM card is spring- loaded.
Push until you feel it snap into place. To remove, press until you feel the card release (a mechanical snap), then remove.
Close and seal access panel:

Gasket must be completely inside the groove with no overhang.
2| Replace access panel| Place the access panel over the area it was removed
from. Align the screw holes in the panel with the ones on the enclosure.
1| Insert and tighten screws| Insert the screws into the appropriate holes.
Tighten hand tight to ensure the plate is properly aligned. Tighten the rest
of the way down with a cross-point screwdriver. Do not overtighten!

detailed information about your Thuraya IP Commander, please refer to the user

located on the Document- Media CD supplied with this product. Thuraya IP
Commander product installation instruc- tions, SRTW part number 920-00299, are
provided in an Adobe Acrobat PDF file on the Document-Media CD supplied with
this product.
The Front Panel

Wi-Fi Antenna Connector: Connect the Wi-Fi “whip” antenna to this connector.
CAUTION: Do not overtighten the connector! -
Thuraya Antenna Connector: This connector provides power and a signal path to and from the Thuraya Antenna.

Thuraya Handset Connector: This permits you to make calls over your IP Commander device using the specially modified handset.

Power Input: Connect either a 120 VAC to 240 VAC, 50-60 Hz power supply, or a 12 V mobile DC power adapter.

Ethernet Connector: Connect a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable between the IP Commander and a PC or other network device.

Status Indicator Panel: Tell at a glance if the
IP Commander is working properly. -
Power/Reset Button: Press and release to apply power to the IP Commander. Press and hold the button to shut the IP Commander down, or to restart if malfun ctioning.

IP Commander Web Pages
This is where you adjust wired and Wi-Fi network settings, set up connection
profiles, change passwords, update firmware, and view the status of the IP
Commander device.
To access the web page, once you have connected your
IP Commander device to your computer, type http://192.168.1.254. The login
screen is dis- played.
The default login is admin, and the default password is admin. Please change
these to something more secure as soon as possible. To do so, refer to the
Pass word section of the IP Commander User Guide (SRTW part number 920-00275)
for instructions.
Change Device Mode
To switch between VOlICE and IP modes, log onto the IP Commander web page (see IP Commander Web Pages in the center column). Click Home under the General heading. Click the radio button related to the IP Profile mode you wish to change to, located within the Change Mode box (Voice or one of the IP modes), and click Connect. In a few moments, you are switched to the desired Device Mode. For details, please refer to the IP Commander user guide, SRTW part number 920-00275.
Set Up IP Commander
Setup is easy. All you need, other than the contents of the trans port case,
is a power source.
1| Connect whip antenna to SMA connector. NOTE: SMA con- nector is fragile.
Tighten only finger tight!

2| Connect the supplied rf coaxial cable between the IP Com- mander and the
Thuraya Antenna. Ensure that the antenna has a clear view of the sky. Do not
kink or otherwise damage the cable.
3| Connect and lock the connector on the Thuraya handset cable to the IP
Commander at the location shown in item . The handset is powered by the IP
Commander. It uses the SIM cards installed inside the IP Commander housing.
4| Connect and lock the power supply or mobile power adapter connector to the
power connector on the IP Commander.
5| Connect and lock the armored end of the RJ-45 Ethernet cable to the IP
Commander and the other to your PC or network.
When everything is connected, apply power, wait a few minutes to acquire a signal from the Thuraya satellite, and you’ re ready to go.
