-
Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
-
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children.
-
Remove all packaging materials prior to first use and dispose of them
in accordance with local regulations. Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children. It poses several risks, including the risk of suffocation!
DANGER due to electricity -
Never immerse the appliances in water or other liquids. The appliances must not be exposed to moisture. They must also not come into contact with drops or splashes of water, which pose a risk of electric shock.
-
Do not use the appliances outdoors.
WARNING: Do not use the appliances near any water, e.g. filled bathtubs,
wash basins or similar. Do not use the appliances with damp hands or while
standing on a damp floor.
If you use the appliances in a bathroom, remove the mains plug from the wall
socket after use. Having water nearby presents a danger even if the appli-
ances are switched off. As additional protection, we recommend installing a
residual current device (RCD) with a rated tripping current of no more than 30
mA in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Consult an electrician
for advice.
-
If an appliance has fallen into water despite taking precautionary measures, remove the mains plug from the wall socket immediately. Do not reach into the water. There is a risk of fatal electric shock!
-
Keep metal objects (e.g. jewellery) away from the air intake opening on the hair dryer to prevent them from being sucked into the appliance. There is otherwise a risk of electric shock!
-
Do not insert any objects into the openings of the hair dryer. There are live parts inside of the appliance which may result in an electric shock if touched.
-
Only use the hair dryer with original accessories provided. Do not use
any additional parts which are not recommended or provided by the manu- facturer. -
Allow the appliances to dry fully after cleaning them before using them again. Risk of fatal electric shock!
-
Connect the appliances only to a properly installed wall socket with the mains voltage and fuse protection specified in the technical specifications of the appliances.
-
Do not use an extension cable in the bathroom. This way, you ensure that the mains plug is always within easy reach.
-
Ensure that the wall socket is easily accessible, so that the mains plug can be disconnected quickly if necessary. Route the mains cable in such away that it does not pose a tripping hazard.
-
The mains cables must not be kinked or squeezed. Keep the cables away from hot surfaces and sharp edges.
-
Do not leave the appliances unattended while they are connected to the mains power supply.
-
Remove the mains plug from the wall socket if malfunctions occur during use, after every use, during thunderstorms and before cleaning the appliances. Always pull on the plug, never on the mains cable.
-
As the mains cable is subjected to a great deal of movement during hair drying/hairstyling, you should check it regularly for damage and wear. Do not wind the mains cables around the appliances.
-
Never operate the appliances if the appliances themselves, or the mains cables show signs of damage or if the appliances have fallen down.
-
Do not make any modifications to the product. Do not open or attempt
to make repairs to the appliances yourself as this may mean that proper functioning can no longer be guaranteed. Do not attempt to replace the mains cables yourself. If a mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced only by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards. Only have repairs to the appliance carried out by a specialist workshop.

Straightening hair
As your hair comes into contact with extremely high temperatures when straightening it, keep the following in mind:

-
Before straightening, use a product that will protect your hair against heat. Suitable products are available from your hairdresser or from a health and beauty retailer.
-
Do not use any other styling products before using the hair straightener.
-
Hair should be clean and dry before straightening. It must never be wet!

Comb your hair through first to get rid of any knots, etc. If your hair is thick, it may be helpful to divide it into manageable sections and then secure them with hair clips.

Take a wide section of hair and, starting close to the hairline, place it between the unlocked, hot heating plates.
-
Press the hair straightener together, applying just a little pressure. Pull the appliance slowly and steadily towards the ends of the hair.

Allow the hair to cool completely before brushing or combing it so as not to diminish the effect of the straightener.
