Connecting Your Speakers
Scout comes standard with a single set of 5-Way binding posts for each speaker
that accept either banana plugs, pins, spades, or bare/tinned wire. When using
bare or tinned wire, ensure that only the necessary amount of wire is exposed
and in all manner of connections maintain proper distancing between
conductors. Shorted cables across the terminals could damage your amplifier or
speakers. Attach positive (+) to the red terminal and negative (-) to the
black terminal. This connection should correlate to the connections from your
amplifier for proper phase.
Placement and Positioning
Speaker placement is a personal preference and is room dependent for best
acoustics. For best performance the speakers should be placed on a solid
surface that will not vibrate or resonate, speaker stands being the best
option. Tweeters should be at ear level at your listening position. Should
bass be overpowering due to being close to a wall, you can block the rear port
with foam to reduce resonance and room interaction.
