- Never use the bike trailer to transport people.
- Never leave the dog unattended.
- The product shall be used only for up to the number of dogs for which it has been designed.
- Always maintain proper ventilation within the dog trailer to prevent overheating. Make sure that the dog does not become too hot or too cold.
- Check your dog regularly during travel to make sure the dog is comfortable in the dog trailer.
- Consult the user manual for the bicycle used with the bike trailer. Especially regarding the maximum allowed full load.
- The bicycle should undergo a safety check by a qualified bicycle mechanic before attaching the bike trailer to it.
- The quick-release knob must be tightened on the quick-release skewer completely with at least two screw threads showing past the end of the quickrelease knob to ensure the rear wheel of the bicycle does not loosen off. Always make sure that the quickrelease is correctly attached. An incorrectly tensioned quick-release may lead to accidental loosening of the rear wheel.
- Always attach the hitch’s back-up safety strap. Do not use the Bicycle Trailer if you cannot attach the hitch’s back-up safety strap around your bicycle frame.
- The nut on the rear axle must be tightened by at least 5 full turns to ensure adequate clamping force. You may discard the original washer on some axles to make room for the ezHitch. Check with your bicycle retailer to be certain. Depending on the hub type, the existing torque support washer for the hub must stay on the frame. Please follow the assembly instructions for the hub and the manufacturer’s torque specifications when fastening the axle nut.
- Make no modifications to the bike trailer.
- Regularly inspect the bike trailer and accessories for damage and signs of wear. Check metal components for any dents or cracks. Do not use the bike trailer if any metal components are cracked or damaged. Examine the bike trailer to see if any of the fasteners are bent, broken, missing or loose. Tighten any loose fasteners and replace any damaged or missing fasteners.
- Do not use any accessories or replacement parts that are not approved by Thule.
- Don´t have a leash attached while the dog is inside the bike trailer.
- Before use, check local regulations about where and how to use the bike trailer.
- Before each journey make sure that the wheels are
- securely locked in the bike trailer.
- Ensure that all the locking devices are engaged before use.
- Before each ride, ensure the attached bike trailer does not interfere with braking, pedaling, or steering of the bicycle.
- The bike trailer is intended for use during daylight hours, on sidewalks, on light traffic public roads, and on smooth paths. Do not use the bike trailer on rough off-road terrain.
- Never ride a bicycle at night without adequate lighting. Obey all local legal requirements for lighting.
- A safety light is recommended when the bike trailer is used in low light conditions.
- Do not use at excessive speeds.
- A reflector that complies with local regulations shall be visible on the rear of tha bike trailer when it is used for cycling. Red reflectors shall be visible on the rear of the bike trailer.
- Do not use this bike trailer around or near an open fire or exposed flame. Carelessness causes fire.
- The bike trailer will become unstable if the manufacturer’s recommended load is exceeded.
- Use of bike trailer changes the stability, braking requirements and riding characteristics of your bicycle.
- When turning right, the angle between the towing bicycle and the bike trailer must not exceed 45°.
- When turning left, the angle must not exceed 90°.
- Always use safety flag.
- Close the weather cover to prevent debris from entering the bike trailer.
- Be aware of the negative influence of the bike trailer on the braking distance of the cycle when the bike trailer is attached.
- Use extreme caution while trailering, never exceed 25km/h / 15mph, and slow down to less than 10km/h / 6mph around corners and on rough roads. Use caution when trailering downhill.
- This product is not suitable for running or skating
- Cycle trailers pulled by an EPAC can be restricted by law. Obey all local legal requirements.
- Any load placed on the unit may cause the unit to become unstable.
