Product Usage Instructions

Safety Precautions:

Before starting the installation process, ensure that the power supply is completely off and disconnected to prevent electrical shock. Always have a licensed electrician handle the installation.

Installation Steps:

  1. Remove the faceplate, glass, and gasket by unscrewing the #10 screws with a Philips head screwdriver. Install the MR16 lamp into the socket holder.
  2. Adjust the aiming of the light by rotating the socket holder and swiveling the lamp carriage as needed.
  3. Clean the gasket and reassemble the fixture by returning the glass, gasket, and faceplate. Tighten the screws in a star pattern.
  4. Dig a hole, fill it with pea gravel for drainage, place the light fixture ensuring it is plumb, and at the desired height. Connect the lead wires to the underground supply cable using suitable connectors.
  5. Backfill around the fixture with pea gravel and soil until only the faceplate is visible.

Additional Tips:

  • Protect small gauge cables from damage by routing them close to the luminaire or adjacent structures.
  • Do not over tighten any connectors or screws.

FAQ

  • Q: What type of cable should be used for the power supply to the luminaire?
    • A: The underground supply cable should be SPT-3 Underground Low Energy Cable.
  • Q: Can I install the luminaire near a pool, spa, or fountain?
    • A: If listed low voltage luminaires are to be located near water features, ensure installation per NEC Code 680.22(B (6) guidelines to avoid electric shock risks.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

LIGHTHAUS INSTALL GUIDE IGR550105 / IGR550205

REQUIRED TOOLS:

  • 3/32 Allen Key (Included)
  • Philips Head Screwdriver
  • Wire Cutter / Stripper Shovel

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To prevent electrical shock, disconnect transformer from electrical supply and make sure power supply is completely off before installation. Fixtures should always be installed by a licensed electrician.
  2. Remove the #10 screws from the faceplate using a Philips head screwdriver then remove the faceplate, glass, and gasket. Install the MR16 lamp into the socket holder.
  3. Adjust the aiming of the light by rotating the socket holder and/or loosening the set screw on the lamp carriage to swivel (see figure).
  4. Ensure the gasket is clean, then return the glass, gasket, and faceplate. Verify they are correctly centered theninstall the 6 x #10 screws and tighten down in a star pattern.
  5. Dig a hole approximately 8” in diameter x 8” deep. Fill the bottom of the hole with pea gravel for water drainage and a secure base. Lightly pack it down in the hole.
  6. Place the light in the hole. The fixture should be plumb and the faceplate at the desired height according to surrounding landscape. Leave some room for back fill.
  7. Separate the 2-conductor 18GA lead wires by pulling apart to desired length. Strip about ½” of insulation off the ends.
  8. Connect the 18GA lead wires to 12GA underground supply cable using UL listed connectors suitable for underground burial or wet location (see figure for configuration).
  9. Underground supply cable for power supply to this luminaire shall be SPT-3 Underground Low Energy Cable.
  10. Back fill the area around the fixture with pea gravel and lightly pack it in/down. Fill any remaining area with soil until the faceplate is the only thing visible.

TIP: Small gauge cable is vulnerable to damage in the landscape; Protect by routing in close proximity to the luminaire or adjacent to concrete slab or similar structure. Do not over tighten.

WARNING

  • Luminaire must be installed in accordance with local codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Failure to do so may result in serious injury and or damage to the luminaire.
  • Risk of electric shock. Install per NEC Code 680.22(B (6), if listed low voltage luminaires are to be located near a pool, spa or fountain.

REQUIRED TOOLS:

  • 3/32 Allen Key (Included)
  • Wire Cutter / Stripper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To prevent electrical shock, disconnect transformer from electrical supply and make sure power supply is completely off before installation. Fixtures should always be installed by a licensed electrician.
  2. Set the CPK assembly on a level surface and secure it using the 4x ¼” holes (screws not included) or in another manner that will keep it secured during the concrete pour (see figure).
  3. Push the conduit into the correct side holes and ensure any unused holes are plugged (PVC solvent cement by other recommended for attaching conduit/plugs).
  4. Insert the temporary cardboard cover into the grade height adjustable collar to prevent poured concrete from entering into the CPK (see figure).
  5. Adjust the grade height adjustable collar to the finish grade level by loosening the set screws and sliding it up or down on the cpk base. Tighten set screws down when done (see figure).
  6. Pour the concrete, let it cure, then remove the cardboard cover.
  7. Separate the 2-conductor 18GA lead wires by pulling apart the ends approximately 10”. Strip about ½” of the insulation off the ends (see figure).
  8. Connect the 18GA lead wires to the main supply cable using UL listed connectors suitable for the location. Neatly place the excess wire and connectors down in the cpk base.
  9. Slide the fixture into the CPK and apply firm pressure until it stops to fully seat.

TIP
