FAQ

What materials is the Veggie Vault made from?
The Veggie Vault is made from durable, weather-resistant galvanized steel.
The hothouse cover is constructed from heavy-duty PVC, which is UV-resistant to protect your plants from harsh sunlight while maintaining a warm environment inside.

Can I leave the hothouse cover on year-round?
The hothouse cover is designed to protect your plants during colder months and can be left on throughout the growing season. However, it’s advisable to remove the cover during extreme weather conditions or when it is not needed. When not in use, store the cover in a cool, dry place to extend its lifespan.

What types of plants can I grow in the Veggie Vault?
The Veggie Vault creates a microclimate that is ideal for starting seeds, growing tender plants, and extending the growing season for various vegetables, herbs, and flowers. You can grow a wide range of plants, including tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and herbs like basil and cilantro. The added warmth helps plants thrive even when outdoor temperatures are cool.

How do I ventilate the hothouse cover to prevent overheating?
Proper ventilation is crucial to prevent overheating and to ensure healthy plant growth. Roll up the zippered panels during the day to allow air circulation, especially on warmer days.

Can the hothouse cover be replaced if it gets damaged?
Yes, replacement hothouse covers are available. If your cover gets damaged beyond repair, you can order a new one that fits your Veggie Vault.

Does the garden bed require any special soil or fertilizers?
Vault does not require any special soil, but using a high-quality, well draining potting mix is recommended for the best results. You can also add compost or organic matter to enrich the soil. Regular fertilization, based on the needs of the plants you are growing, will help maintain healthy growth throughout the season.

How much soil is in the Veggie Vault?
Depending on the aeration of your soil, your Veggie Vault can contain about 500 lbs of soil, or 13x 40 pound bags.
