Programming Steps
- Turn on the radio, and plug in the programming cable. Then, turn on programming software. Click “Setting” and choose correct “COM” Port, then click the “OK” button.
- Click the “Read” button, then click “Start” and ready to read the data from your radio.
- You will come to the parameter page , and you can adjust the relevant parameter, like CTCSS/DCS.
- Click “VOX” to turn on/off and adjust its level to depend on the need.
- After setting, click the “Write” button and then click “Start” and be ready to write the data to your radio.
- If you need to apply the same settings to other GT-18s, click the “Save” button to save the setting file (code plug) to your computer.
- Refer to the above steps, connect other GT-18 to the computer, open the setting file (code plug) you saved before in the software, and directly click the “Write” button to import the settings.
Troubleshooting

There is no com port that I can choose after connect to the computer.
Please ensure that the radio if turned on and kindly check if you have firmly plugged in the programming cable and selected the correct comm port. If you have other programming cables that can help test, please also try to program the radio using another programming cable. -
It’s not possible to program using the cable included in the package.
Please kindly note that the cable that comes with the radios only supports charging. If you need to program the radio, please use a K-plug programming cable. -
The GT-18 FRS radio cannot active the NOAA channels.
