Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Mounting Brackets Installation
Install the two mounting brackets onto the passenger side upper and lower
rear door hinges. Use the smaller bracket for the upper door hinge and the
larger bracket for the lower door hinges. Do not tighten the bolts and nuts at
this stage.
Step 2: Hardware needed for this step:
- 2x hinge backing plates
- 4x M10 hex drive button head screws
- 4x M10 nylon self-locking nuts
- 4x washers & 4x spring washers
Step 3: Mark and Drill the Mounting Hole
Choose a third mounting/cushioning point for the gear rack.
Final Steps
Your installation is now complete. Before final tightening, double-check to
ensure that the gear carrier is correctly aligned. Regularly inspect the tire
ladder to ensure it remains securely fitted.

Installation Steps

Step 1:
- Install the two mounting brackets onto the passenger side upper and lower rear door hinges. Follow the order shown in the figure. Use the smaller bracket for the upper door hinge and the larger bracket for the lower door hinges. (Note: Do not tighten the bolts and nuts at this stage.)
- Hardware needed for this step:

- 4x M10 nylon self-locking nuts

Step 2:
Attach the gear rack to the mounting brackets. Do not fully tighten the bolts at this stage. -
Step 3:
Mark and Drill the Mounting Hole.
1. Choose a third mounting/cushioning point for the gear rack, which requires drilling a hole through your rear door. Ideally, this point should be near the rear door handle where both exterior cosmetic sheet metal and structural inner sheet metal are present.
2. If you are unsure, use the recommended mounting point shown in the picture below.
3. Carefully drill the hole, ensuring it is accurately positioned.
4. After drilling, apply a rustproofing treatment to the hole.
5. Bolt the gear rack in place.
6. Remember to install 2x rubber bushings between the gear rack and the door to ensure proper cushioning and alignment.
Important Notes:
- Before final tightening, double-check to ensure that the gear carrier is correctly aligned.
- Regularly inspect the tire ladder to ensure it remains securely fitted.

- Failure to adhere to the following warnings may result in the rack detaching from the vehicle, leading to serious injury or death.
- Inspection and maintenance: Inspect and tighten all hardware after the first 160 km of driving. Thereafter, check the overall integrity of the carrier every 960 km or monthly, whichever occurs first. If you are unsure about the installation or condition of the rack, submit photos to info@lonavity.ca for evaluation before continuing use.
