Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Turn Off Your Console

1. Remove all cables and devices connected to your console.

2. Allow your console to cool down.

3. Place your console on a flat surface with a clean protective
covering or an anti-static mat.

4. Remove the base and position the console with the PS logo
facing down and the back facing you.

Step 2: Remove the Console Cover

1. Grip the bottom-right hand and top-left hand corners of the
cover.

2. Gently lift the right side of the cover.

3. Slide the cover off to the left.

Step 3: Remove Expansion Slot Cover

1. Locate the rectangular expansion slot cover.

2. Remove the screw, and then remove the cover.

Step 4: Remove M.2 SSD Screw and Spacer

1. Remove the screw and spacer from the 110 slot.

2. Put the spacer in the 80 slot.

Step 5: Insert M.2 SSD

1. Align the SSD with the notch on the expansion connector.

2. Firmly insert it all the way into the connector.

3. Push the drive into the slot until you hear and feel a
click.

4. Fasten it with the screw.

Q: Can I store a part of game data on console storage and the

remaining data on M.2 SSD storage?

A: No, all game data for a particular game must be stored in the
same place.

Q: What should I do if I experience gameplay issues when

playing games stored on M.2 SSD Storage?

A: Press the PS button on your controller to go to the control
center, then select Downloads/console storage.

HOW TO INSTALL A NEW M.2 SSD INTO YOUR PS5®
WHAT YOU NEED TO BEGIN
Your officially licensed WD_BLACKTM SN850P SSD Well-lit room Table or secure flat surface #1 Philips or cross-head screwdriver Anti-static mat (optional) Small flashlight (optional)
STEP_1 TURN OFF YOUR CONSOLE
Remove all cables and devices connected to your console Allow your console to cool down Place your console on a flat surface with a clean protective covering
(or an anti-static mat if you have one) Remove the base and position the console so that the PS logo is facing down,

STEP_2 REMOVE THE CONSOLE COVER
Grip the bottom-right hand and top-left hand corners of the cover

STEP_3 REMOVE EXPANSION SLOT COVER
Locate the rectangular expansion slot cover Remove the screw, and then remove the cover
STEP_4 REMOVE M.2 SSD SCREW AND SPACER
Remove the screw and spacer from the 110 slot Then put the spacer in the 80 slot
STEP_5 INSERT M.2 SSD
Holding the edge of the WD_BLACKTM SN850P SSD, align it with the notch on the expansion connector
Tilt the WD_BLACKTM SN850P SSD diagonally upward, and firmly insert it all the way into the expansion connector
Carefully push the drive into the slot until you hear and feel a click
Tilt the WD_BLACKTM SN850P SSD down and fasten it with the screw
STEP_6 ATTACH EXPANSION SLOT COVER
Attach the expansion slot cover and fasten the screw
Note: If the slot cover does not close properly, your cooling structure likely exceeds size requirements

STEP_7 REPLACE CONSOLE COVER
Position the cover slightly away from the top edge of the console and slide it back into place
When you hear a click, you’ll know the cover is secured
STEP_8 RECONNECT, REFORMAT, AND PLAY!
Reattach the base and connect the AC power cord and cables
Turn on the power When your PS5® console turns on, the formatting
guide appears. Follow the onscreen instructions and format the M.2 SSD. Store and play all your favorite games from your SSD!
