Product Usage Instructions

Installation Instructions:

  1. Turn off the AC power to the installation area.
  2. Remove the Face Plate of the Unit.
  3. Ceiling Mount:
  4. Secure the Bracket: Feed the source wires through the bracket and secure it to the j-box.
  5. Connect the Wires: Run the connection wires through the canopy and connect with the source wires.
  6. Attach the Canopy: Use screws to attach the canopy to the bracket.
  7. Attach the Housing: Snap the housing onto the canopy.
  8. Wall Mount:
  9. Knock Out: Create necessary holes in the rear of the housing for mounting.
  10. Secure the Housing: Feed the source wires through and secure it to the j-box with screws.
  11. Connect the Wires: Connect with the wires according to your building’s voltage requirements.
  12. Turn On the Power: Flip the circuit breaker back on for the installation area.
  13. Connect the Battery: Insert the battery terminal wire into the two-pin male connector on the circuit board. Only connect the battery once AC power is available.
  14. Secure the Faceplate: Attach and secure the faceplate to the housing.

Safety Instructions

  • Do not use the equipment outdoors.
  • Mount the equipment securely at heights where it will not be tampered with by unauthorized personnel.
  • Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.
  • Cap unused wires with the enclosed wire nuts or another approved method.

Important Information

Battery

The battery in this unit may not be fully charged. After connecting the unit to electricity, the battery will take up to 24 hours to be fully charged.

Replacement Lights

Only use the lights specified in the exit sign. Using other light types may result in transformer damage or unsafe conditions.

Installation Instructions

  • Unit wiring must be completed by a certified electrician.
  • Use flexible conduit only.
  • It is recommended to put all emergency lighting on a dedicated breaker. Refer to local and state guidelines for your specific requirements.
  • If your building has 277VAC, it is recommended to use that (red wire). If it does not, use the 120VAC (black wire). Both require using the neutral (white wire).

  1. Turn off the AC power to the installation area.

  2. Remove the Face Plate of the Unit.

  3. Choose Mounting Configuration: Decide on end or wall mount. Plug any remaining holes with the appropriate plugs found in the box.

  4. 4a. Ceiling Mount ( Fig. 1 )

    • a. Secure the Bracket: Feed the source wires through the bracket and secure the bracket to the j-box.

    • b. Connect the Wires: Run the connection wires through the canopy and connect with the source wires.
      Note: If your building has 277VAC, it is recommended to use that (red) If it does not, use the 120VAC (black). Both require using the neutral (white).

    • c. Attach the Canopy: Use the screws to attach the canopy to the bracket.

    • d. Attach the Housing: Snap the housing onto the canopy. 4b. Wall Mount (Fig. 2)

    • a. Knock Out: Knock out the center hole and the screw holes that match your j-box in the rear of the housing

    • b. Secure the Housing: Feed the source wires through the center hole and secure the housing to the j-box with screws.

    • c. Connect the Wires: Connect with the wires.
      Note: If your building has 277VAC, it is recommended to use that (red). If it does not, use the 120VAC (black). Both require using the neutral (white).

  5. Turn On the Power: Flip the circuit breaker back on for the installation area.

  6. Connect the Battery: Insert the battery terminal wire into the two-pin male connector on the circuit board (Fig. 2).
    Note: Only connect the battery once AC power is available.

  7. Secure the Faceplate: Secure the faceplate to the housing and remove the proper arrow as required.

Remote Lights

  • Use yellow and blue wires for remote fixture(s). Route wires outside of the fixture separately or with AC supply wires.
  • Make sure to keep all wires out of the way of the EXIT LEGEND so there are no shadows.

Operation

  • Automatic Operation: During an electrical power failure, the LED lights will automatically turn on for a minimum of 90 minutes.
  • Testing: To test, press the “TEST” switch. The emergency LED lights will illuminate. When the switch is released, the lights will turn off.
