Assembly

Remove the grill and all accessories from the packaging and check that the package contents are complete. Remove any protective films. Keep the packaging material away from children and dispose of appropriately.

The following tools are required to assemble the grill:

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • 7 mm open-ended spanner or combination pliers

Assembling the grill involves just 4 steps. There are illustrations on pages 2 and 3.

Assembly step 1 : Mounting the wind guard (3)

  • As shown in the diagram, insert the 2 parts of the wind guard (3) from above into the pre-punched slots on the edge of the charcoal container (4). Push the parts of the wind guard (3) together slightly in order to introduce the catches into the slots. After you insert them, they sit firmly in the slots with a little tension.
  • Now connect the 2 parts of the wind guard (3) using 3 short screws (7) and 3 nuts (9).
  • Screw up the nuts (9) tightly.

Assembly step 2 : Mounting the feet (5)

You will need 6 short screws (7), 6 nuts (9), and 3 plastic feet (10).

  • Screw the 3 feet (5) to the underside of the charcoal container (4) by inserting 2 short screws (7) down through the holes provided in the charcoal container (4) into each of the feet (5) and then securing them from underneath with a nut (9).
  • Screw up the nuts (9) tightly.
  • Place the plastic feet (10) onto the bottom ends of the stands (5).

Assembly step 3 : Mounting the strut (6)

You will need 3 long screws (8) and 3 nuts (9).

  • Now mount the strut (6) between the feet (5) by guiding it between the feet (5) and securing it to the holes in each of the feet (5) using a screw and a nut. In each case, guide a long screw (8) through the hole in the foot (5) and then through the hole or eyelets in the strut (6). Start by placing the 2 eyelets on top of each other at the open ends of the strut (6) and screw them down accordingly. Secure the connections with a nut (9) on the inside.
  • Screw up the nuts (9) tightly.

Assembly step 4: Putting the grill tray (1) in place/Using the handle (2)

The grill tray (1) can be adjusted to 4 different heights.

  • You will need 3 short screws (7) and 3 nuts (9).
  • To select a level, use the slots on the connection between the two parts of the wind guard (3). There are also 4 open slots on the outer ends of the wind guard (3) that the grill tray (1) can be slotted into. When choosing a height, make sure that all 3 supports are resting at the same height.

The handle (2) protects you from getting burned on the hot grill tray (1). So it is vitally important that this handle (2) is removed from the grill tray (1) once the grill tray (1) has been placed on the hot charcoal in the charcoal container (4). Otherwise it would get very hot. Risk of getting burnt!

Before you start

  • We recommend cleaning the grill tray (1) in hot soapy water before first use.
  • Before using it for the first time, heat the grill up for at least 30 minutes to remove any production residues. This can cause a slight smell, but this is completely normal.

Getting started

DANGER! Always place the grill on an even, heat-resistant, solid surface away from combustible materials, liquids or gases. Leave sufficient clearance to walls and other objects and never leave the grill unattended while in use and while still hot. Fire hazard!

DANGER! Only use firelighters that comply with European Standard EN 1860-3 to light or reignite the grill. Never use petrol or methylated spirits. These could cause flash fires or uncontrolled heat build-up which could lead to serious burns or fires. Risk of burns and fire!

  • Fill enough barbecue charcoal or charcoal briquettes into the charcoal container (4) to cover the bottom.
    • Note: If you have one, you can ignite the charcoal/charcoal briquettes in a charcoal chimney starter on a heat-resistant surface away from the grill.
  • Now place 2-3 firelighters on the charcoal or charcoal briquettes and light them with a lighter or matches.
  • Once the firelighters are burning well, carefully fill the charcoal container (4) with charcoal/charcoal briquettes. Make sure you do not stifle the firelighters.
  • You can tell that the charcoal or charcoal briquettes are ready when there is a white layer of ash on top and the firelighters have burnt out completely.
  • Now use a suitable metal implement to spread the charcoal/charcoal briquettes evenly around the charcoal container (4).
  • Put the grill tray (1) in place, wait a few minutes for the grill tray (1) to heat up, and start barbecuing.
  • Remove the food once it is cooked as you want it.

Bon appetit!

Maintenance/cleaning

Do not clean the grill until it is completely cool. Otherwise, there is a risk of burn injury!

The grill does not contain any parts that require regular maintenance. For normal cleaning, use a cloth and water with normal washing-up liquid. Do not use any abrasive or astringent detergents as this could cause damage. A household sponge and washing-up liquid are perfect for cleaning the grill tray (1). If the grill tray (1) has stubborn, crusted-on dirt, it can help to soak it in water before cleaning to soften the dirt. After use, rinse the grill tray (1) with plenty of clean water to remove food residues.

Environmental regulations and disposal information

Dispose of the fuel when it has cooled down or burnt down completely using a suitable container made of non-combustible materials. Avoid hazards to the environment and dangers to your personal health by disposing of the device properly. For further information about proper disposal, contact your local government, disposal bodies, or the shop where you bought the device.
