Product Usage Instructions:

1. First Time Installation:

Follow these steps for the initial setup of your WebOS TV:

  1. Switch on the TV and press the OK button on the remote.

  2. Select your language and press the right arrow, then press
    OK.

  3. Select your country, press the right arrow, and then press
    OK.

  4. Choose whether to enable or disable Audio Guidance and confirm
    with OK.

  5. If you have a ThinQ account, set up the TV using your mobile.
    Otherwise, select TV (default) and proceed with the setup.

  6. Select your WiFi network and enter the password using the
    on-screen keyboard.

  7. Accept the terms and conditions by pressing OK.

  8. Select ‘Select All’ and press OK. Follow on-screen instructions
    to complete setup.

  9. Specify how you will use the TV (set-top box only, TV only,
    both set-top box and TV, or none) and proceed.

  10. Enter your postcode for regional broadcast variations.

  11. Select whether the TV is fitted to the stand or wall mounted
    for sound settings.

2. Changing Source:

To switch between different sources on your WebOS TV:

  1. Press the Source button on your remote control.

  2. Use the arrow keys to navigate through the available
    sources.

It is important that this user manual be kept with the device for further consultation. If this device is to be transferred to another person, make sure the user manual follows the device so that the new user can be informed of the operation of the device.

First Time Installation Instructions
After switching on this screen will be displayed, press the OK button on the remote
Select you language then press the right arrow on the remote to select Next and then press the OK button

Select your country and press the right arrow to select Next button then press OK
If you want to turn off the Audio Guidance function then select No if you want to keep the Audio Guidance turned on then select Yes. Whatever you decide it can be reversed later in the Menu functions. Click OK button when you have made your choice.

If you already have a ThinQ account then you can set up the TV using your mobile otherwise select TV (default) to continue TV set up select Next and press the OK button.
Select your WiFi from the displayed list. Please note you can Skip this step but if you do you cannot use any Freeview Play functions or any Apps, both of which require an internet connection.

Enter the password for you WiFi using the on screen keyboard and the arrow keys on your remote.
Select Next and press OK to accept the terms and conditions, please note you can skip this by selecting Skip at the top right but if you do that some functions of the TV will not be available and the TV might not work as you expect.

Please select `Select All’ and press OK, you can skip this but as mentioned previously this could result in some functions not working.
Click Select All Then select more and press OK 9

You need to specify how you will use the TV, if you will use an external box such as SKY or Virgin then choose set top box only, if you have no external box then choose TV only or if you will use both the set top box and the TV then choose TV & Set Top Box, if you will not watch any kind of TV and only use apps then select None. Please note you may only get 2 options depending on what is connected to the TV at the time of installation. Whatever you choose select Next then press OK.
Please enter your postcode, this is required for getting the correct regional broadcast variations. Then select Next and press OK on your remote.

After entering your postcode click Next 12

Select whether your TV is fitted to the stand or wall mounted, this affects the sound settings.
You can choose whether or not to have automatic software updates, it is usually best to leave set to On as it does not affect the operation of the TV and means you are always running the latest software version. Whatever you choose can be changed at a later date from the menu.

Select what antennas you are using, Antenna & Satellite or Just Antenna or Just Satellite. Do not select Cable in the UK (If you have cable TV in the UK you will use an external box and connect via HDMI, the same is true if you have SKY TV).
Select Digital Only Search and then click Next 14

If you selected Satellite then you need select service operator in the UK we only have Freesat in other countries there are more options. Then click Next
The TV will tune all the channels, this may take a few minutes. 15

When the tuning is complete you will be asked if you would like to add extra channels, these are internet based channels and can only be accessed if you have an internet connection. If you would like to add them select Yes otherwise select No.
If you selected Yes this screen will appear, select continue and then wait while it installs the channels. 16

Once this screen appears the tuning is finished please select done and press your OK button.
You will need to sign in or create an LG account, you can skip this step but you will need to sign in before you can access the app store.

If you use the mobile app follow the instructions in the app. Otherwise follow the instructions below to sign in on the TV
If you have an LG account select the top option, if you don’t you will need to create one so select the bottom option. Whichever you choose you will need to enter an email address and a password. Please follow the on screen prompts to complete your sign in.
When you have signed in this Screen will appear and a tune will be played 18

You can use this page to sign into some apps but this can be done later when launching the app. Select Done and click OK
The Home screen will be displayed and the first-time installation is complete. 19

WebOS TV how to switch between TV and Satellite
When watching TV press List on the remote control
LIST
Then press the 3 dots …
Then click Done
The Tv will now be on Satellite, to go back to TV reverse the process.

Changing Source
To change source on the TV press this button on the TV and a row of options will appear at the bottom of the screen.
The actual list will depend on what you have plugged in The actual options you will see will vary depending on what is currently plugged into the TV sockets
1. Home Hub. If you have any items also connected to ThinQ you can see them here. 2. Live TV. This is either Aerial channels or satellite depending on what is tuned in and viewed
last. 3. LG Channels if you accepted extra channels during First time installation you can view them
here. 4. AV. If you have anything connected to the AV 5. Storage if you have a USB or other storage device plugged in it will show here otherwise you
will not see this. If you have things plugged in via HDMI you will see them. You can select what input you want and press OK on your remote to go to that item.

How to download apps from the WebOS App Store (WiFi is required to use apps)
You can quickly jump to Netflix or Prime Video by pressing the appropriate button on your remote control.

These apps require subscriptions to be able to access them, if you are accessing them for the first time you will need to log in or sign up to a subscription.

If you press the Home button

on the remote you will see the Home Screen with a row of

apps along the bottom of the screen

You can select any of the apps and press the OK button to enter that app, some apps require a paid subscription to be able to use them. Most apps require a login even if they are free like BBC iPlayer. You will need to login to the following apps for Freeview Play to work properly: BBC iPlayer, ITV X, More 4, My 5 and UKTV play (now called U). The first 4 can be found on the apps already installed but UKTV Play (U) you need to get from the app store. This is the process to find and install it, the same process can be used to install any app you can find in the app store, if you can’t find it in the app store it is not available.

On the row of app icons select the apps one: If you can’t see the app you want in our case UKTV play (U) then you need to search for it so select the search at the top of the screen
Then type in UKTV play and press the OK button
Select it and press OK button to install it, it will then appear on the list of apps on the Home screen. This process can be used to find and install any app from the app store.

You can also set the apps into the Quick Access Menu If you enter for instance BBCiPlayer then press and hold the 0 button, then the Quick access edit will appear move the highlighted segment to the button you want to store it on (1-9) then click OK and the app will then be on that for quick access. Then to access it from anywhere press and hold the button for the app (so if you stored BBCiPlayer on 1 then press and hold 1 and the BBCiPlayer app will open. You can store up to 9 things in the quick access menu. Long press on 0 will access the quick menu in future and you can select your favourite app from here.

How to access FreeviewPlay catchup When watching TV press the Guide button on the remote
Select this arrow next to the channel you want to play a catchup program from. If there is no arrow then there is no catchup on that channel

Select this arrow to go back in time up to 7 days.
Select this arrow to go forward in time up to 7 days. You can only set reminders going forward.
Then select the program you want to watch and the appropriate app will open and the program will start.

How to set up and manage Favourites
While watching TV or satellite press either LIST or Guide button on the remote:

Then press the 3 dots …

Then select All and select which Favourite you want to set up/manage.
There are 8 Favourites for different people or program types.

If this is the first time the list is selected there will be nothing in it so select Edit Favourites
Select the programs you want to add to your list by highlighting them and pressing the OK button, once selected the circle will turn green.

After selecting the programs you want in your list select the right arrow between the 2 boxes and click OK.
This will move the selected programs to the Favourite List
You can change the name of your list by clicking the green button on your remote. This will open an on screen keyboard for you to type the new name of your Favourite List

To edit a Favourite List press Guide and select the list to edit
Then press 3 dots … button on the remote
Then select Program Manager Then select Edit Favourites

To add programs to your list highlight them in the left hand list and click OK for the circle to turn green and then use the right arrow between the two lists to transfer them. To remove programs from your list highlight them in the right hand list and click OK for the circle to turn green and then use the left arrow between the two list to remove them. To edit your list name press the green button on your remote and follow the steps from earlier in the guide for naming your list.

How to move Channels in your Favourite List on the WebOS TV
You can change the order that channels appear in your favourite list as follows
Then press 3 dots … button on the remote
And select Programme Manager Then select Edit Favourites
Please note you can only move channels in the favourite lists not the all programmes list

Highlight the channel you want to move and Click OK to turn the circle green
Then press the red button on the remote
Now move the channel to the required position

And press OK to save it in that position
The channels will now be in that order whenever you select that Favourite List, it does not affect other Favourite Lists or the All Channel List.

Recording & Playback
You will need an external storage device such as a USB or an HDD, the recommended size for the USB is 32GB and the HDD should be no more than 2TB. Please Note you can only record TV programs or satellite programs you can’t record from an app or any other external source such as HDMI. First time installation of External storage When you first plug in your USB or HDD the TV will ask you what you want to search the device for files, recordings or if it is empty then select Cancel.

Recording the current Program While watching a TV or Satellite channel press the 3 dots … button on the remote control. This will bring up a menu on the right of the screen.
Select record from the list. Then the following pop up box will appear.
You can change the duration and it will let you select from 30 minutes upwards in 30 minute intervals or just record to the end of program, once you have selected your duration select done and press the OK button. If this is the first time recording on this storage device the TV will run a check to ensure the device is suitable for recording to.

Click OK to run verification test. Once completed this message will appear.
Click OK and restart the recording. A message will appear to say recording has started and if there are more episodes of the same program this message will pop up to ask if you want to record other episodes. If you want to stop the recording before it reaches the scheduled end then press the OK button on the remote and a button will pop up at the bottom left press OK to stop the recording.
This screen will then pop up and you have several options to save the recording or discard it.

The top option is stop and save the recording to this point. The second option is do not save, discard the recording. 3rd option is to change when the recording is scheduled to stop And the last one cancels the stop request and continues recording until the original specified end point. Playing recorded programs will be covered in a later section as it is the same regardless of how you recorded it. Scheduling a Timed Recording If you want to set a program to record in the future you can set the timer to start and stop the recording. To schedule a timed recording press the 3 dots … button on the remote.

The TV scheduler will be blank unless you have used it before
At the top right there are 2 clock icons, 3 vertical dots and a cross. The clock furthest left is the schedule recording clock. The next clock is schedule a reminder, this can be used to remind you when a program is about to start so you don’t miss it. The 3 vertical dots is for editing entries in the schedule. The cross is to exit the scheduler and return to the TV. Select the clock furthest left to schedule a recording and this pop-up screen will appear.
Select manually schedule a recording, using the guide is explained later.

This pop-up screen can be used to enter the details of your scheduled recording. If you have more than one storage device connected you can select which one to use, otherwise skip the top row, then set whether you want it to happen more than once so you can select daily or weekly, remember this is manually set so if something changes in the broadcast schedule you might miss the intended program. Then set the date of the recording (first recording if you have set recurring), set the start time and the end time, the programme for example DTV 3 ITV1, if you wish you can manually type in a title for your recording. When you are satisfied with your settings you will be here
Select done to schedule the recording and it will appear in the scheduled recording list. 41

Please note for the recording to happen the TV must either be in standby or on another source or you have to watch the channel you are recording, you cannot record one channel and watch another at the same time. You can record a TV program and watch a satellite channel or something on an app or something via HDMI. Scheduling a Recording using the Guide The easiest way to schedule a recording is to use the TV guide. Press the guide button on the remote to bring up the TV guide.

Use the arrow keys on your remote to navigate to the desired program to record, you can use up and down arrows to move to different channels and the right arrow to move forward in time, you cannot record something in the past you can only watch that on catchup where available. Once you find the program you want to record then highlight it
Click the Ok button and the following message will be displayed.
You can choose to set a reminder or schedule a recording, to schedule a recording choose the second option and press OK.

This box will pop up on the right of the screen, you can choose either this episode only or record the whole series. Whichever you choose a red clock will appear next the program on the guide.
The program is now set for recording, please remember you can’t record a program and watch another program on the same source at the same time, you can watch something on another source while the recording is taking place or the TV can be in standby. How to playback recorded programs. You need to have the external storage device on which you made your recordings plugged into the USB socket on the TV. When watching TV or satellite press the 3 dots button and select recordings from the pop-up menu.

Use the arrow keys on your remote to select the program you want to watch and press the OK button and the program will start playing. To control the playback you must use the on screen controls. Press OK to bring up the on- screen controls.

If you are not watching TV or satellite and want to see your recordings then you can press the source button and select your storage device from the USB input. Then select Recordings from the pop-up message.
To stop the playback of any recorded program press the Back button on the remote control. 46

Maintenance
Careful and regular cleaning can prolong the life of your TV. Be sure to Disconnect the mains cable from the mains socket before any cleaning.
1. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe away the dust from the screen and surfaces. 2. If the surfaces are extremely dirty, clean the TV with a cloth which has
been dipped in a weak soapy water.Wring the cloth until it is almost dry, then use it to wipe the TV. 3. Ensure there is no excess water on the screen. Allow any water or dampness to evaporate before switching the TV on.
Never use alcohol, benzine, paint-thinner, cleaning fluid or other chemicals. Do not use compressed air to remove dust.
Disposal
