THORLABS PTT600600 PTT600900 Iso Plate Benchtop Vibration Isolation System
Overview
The Iso-Plate benchtop passive vibration isolation system provides portability
and localized air suspension for small-scale experiments, demonstrations and
vibration-sensitive instrumentation.
The system is offered in three sizes, 300 x 600mm (11.8″ x 23.6″), 600 x 600mm
(23.6″ x 23.6″) and 900 x 600mm (35.4″ x 23.6″). The breadboard (available
separately) sits on 4 rubber pads.
The pneumatic system comprises 4 inflated cushions, of which a pair have a
coupled air reservoir and the remaining two cushions are independently
inflated. This arrangement provides stable, three point dynamics to the
system.
Air suspension is achieved via three valves on the front panel which can be
inflated by a standard foot pump (PTA126).
Setup

Ensure the worksurface is level.
Warning
During item 2):
Breadboards should be manipulated only using appropriate lifting equipment.
Breadboards should be lifted only in an unpopulated condition. -
Lift the breadboard into position.

Connect a foot pump to the air connections on the front panel and inflate each mount until the breadboard begins to rise – **see Fig. 1.1.

Caution
** During item (4), the total load including the breadboard must not exceed
180kg (400 lb)

Populate the breadboard
Caution
During item (5), It may be necessary to inflate each mount to a different pressure due to the loading of the breadboard Do not exceed 60 p.s.i. -
Further inflate the mounts until the breadboard is level and a gap of 5 to 8mm is present between the bottom and top plates
– **see Fig. 1.2.

- Fit the dust caps.
