Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Secure and Plug-in Controller
- Remove diagnostic connector from housing and feed it down to the center console.
- Remove center console panel to expose wires.
- Connect diagnostic cable to the diagnostic connector and plug it into the mini controller.
- Zip tie the mini controller to the main wire housing.
Step 2: Routing Wire to Battery
- Remove bolts to the center console handle and frame.
- Remove the center side console plastic from the passenger side all the way back to the battery by carefully prying the plastic back.
- From the main harness, take the blue wire and plug it into the other side of the mini diagnostic connector.
- Run the blue wire through the center console and have it come out next to the battery.
Step 3: Assemble Connector
- Assemble the connector by pushing the red wire into the hole marked 1 and the black into hole 2. Push the wires in until they click into place and lock into the connector.
- Push the green wedge lock in until it clicks.
- Plug the connector into the light and secure the wire using zip ties.
Step 4: Routing Harness to Lights
- Route the wires to your accessory (Make sure the wire is securely zip tied).
- Plug in accessory.
Step 5: Reinstall Plastics
Operation of Reverse Lights
Sams Backup Lights are automatic. No switches or programming required. When
the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the lights will automatically come on.
The controller has been programmed with a manual override feature, so back-up
lights can be turned on without the vehicle needing to be shifted into
reverse.

Q: Are there any special tools required for installation?
A: Yes, you will need a 13mm Socket & Ratchet, 13mm Wrench, Philips
Screwdriver, Flat Head Screwdriver, Torx T-40, 1/16 and 5/16 Drill Bit, and
Wire Cutter.
Q: Can the back-up lights be turned on manually?

INSTALATION STEPS
Secure and Plug-in Controller
- Remove the diagnostic connector from the housing (shown in picture 1) and feed it down to the center console.
- Remove center console Pannel to expose wires.
- Connect the diagnostic cable to the diagnostic connector and plug it into the mini-controller
- Zip tie the mini controller to the main wire housing (shown in picture 2).
Routing Wire to battery
- Remove bolts to the center console handle and frame
- Remove the center side console plastic from the passenger side all the way back to the battery by carefully prying the plastic back
- From the main harness, take the blue wire and plug it into the other side of the mini diagnostic connector

The Orange wire from Sam’s Controller needs to match the Orange/Green wire on
the factory Can-Am diagnostic connector

Operation of Reverse Lights
Sam’s Backup Lights are automatic. NO switches or programming required. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the lights will automatically come on. The controller has been programmed with a manual override feature, so back-up lights can be turned on without the vehicle needing to be shifted into reverse.

Fully Automatic When Shifted to Reverse

Manual Override Function
- Shift the vehicle into Neutral
- Press and hold the brake pedal for up to 2 seconds. The reverse light will automatically turn onand stay on.
To turn the light off repeat this procedure.
Note: If the ignition is turned off while the vehicle is in reverse, or the manual overrid function is enabled, the lights will remain ON until the ECU enters sleep mode (approximately 30 secs to 2 minutes depending on vehicle and ECU type).
