Product Usage Instructions
Setting up Pressing Area
Before starting the class, ensure you have a dedicated pressing area at
your table. Use the Dritz Mighty travel iron to press your fabrics as needed.
Using Spray Starch
Apply spray starch to your fabrics for crisp and professional results. Best
Press is recommended, but you can use your preferred brand.
Bringing Your Sewing Machine
If you have your own sewing machine, make sure to bring it to the class.
Alternatively, you can rent one for $5 by informing the organizers beforehand.
Purchasing Class Supplies
We encourage you to buy your class supplies from us. Your purchases support
our class schedule and local economy.
Cancellation Policy
Please note the cancellation policy mentioned above and ensure you adhere
to the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.
Attendance and Substitution
If you are unable to attend, you can send someone else in your place.
However, please inform us in advance for any substitutions.
Respecting Fellow Students

to the class, as other students prefer a distraction-free environment.

Q: Can I get a refund if I cancel my enrollment?
A: Refunds or transfers are not possible one week before the class starts. However, your spot can be filled from the waiting list if available. -

Grainline Studio Tamarack Jacket comes in 2 sizes 0-18 and 14-30
Quiltsmart Flying Geese Coat Pack Fusible Interfacing
Fabric requirements are listed on the pattern for sizes.
I purchased an extra yard of the main fabric and the lining to accommodate the
flying strips.
I sewed using a coordinated Aurifil thread. I did use a different color on top
and the bottom when I quilted the layers together.
Quilters Dream BAMBOO batting, Twin, 93”x 72”. Bamboo, is soft and very
comfortable in garments
Quilter’s Select 6”x 24”
Quilter’s Select 6” x 6” ruler, easier to use when squaring the Flying geese
- 45 mm rotary cutter Olfa, Quilter’s Select, or Martelli are all fine
- Olfa or Quilter’s Select cutting mat (18” x 24” is a nice classroom size mat)
- Kai Patchwork Scissors
- Magic Pins – Quilting (Fine, 100 piece) and Mini Wonder clips
- Notebook and pen for taking notes, marking your patterns.
- Kai Seam Ripper
- Dritz Water soluble marker, at least 2 pens, make sure you can see them on most of your fabric.
- Sewing machine
- walking foot
- If you have a Bernina, using your Dual Feed 37D works great for the whole jacket.
- Large wool pressing pad (17”x17” or more practical 17” x 24”)
- Dritz Mighty travel iron, you’ll want to set up a pressing area at your table. You’ll press a lot.
- Spray Starch. I use Best Press, but feel free to bring your favorite.
Sewing Machine Needed for Class? Yes, or you can rent one for $5, just
let us know prior to class We appreciate it when you buy your class supplies
from us – these purchases enable us to offer a robust class schedule and keep
your dollars local.
Cancellation Policy: We must commit to our teachers and to other students
one week before the class begins so we can’t give refunds or transfers after
that time (unless we can fill your spot from the waiting list). You are
welcome to send someone in your place if you are unable to come. If enrollment
has not met the minimum required for the class, we will cancel it four days
before the first session. We love your kids but your fellow students left
theirs at home and hope you will too.
