QUILT PATCH Folded Star 8 inch Hot Pad
Class Description
Make an 8-inch Folded Star Hot Pad from Plumeasy patterns. The pattern
includes instructions for making a square hot pad and (1) a template. These
hot pads are perfect for gifts or daily use to spruce up your kitchen. This is
a great project for beginners and is fat-quarter friendly.
( Note: The hot pad cannot be microwaved.)
Class Supplies
- Folded Star Hot Pad Pattern from Plumeasy Patterns
- 5 coordinating fabrics ( may use fat quarters OR 1/4 yard cuts). You will also need a 9-inch fabric square for the backing and 2 ½ 2-inch WOF strip for the binding
- Mono Poly Thread clear
- 50wt Cotton thread to coordinate with hot pad fabrics
- Water Soluble Glue
- Insul Bright Heat Resistant Batting (you will need a 9-inch square)
- The sewing Machine is in good working order with a pedal, electrical cord and manual. A walking foot is highly recommended.
- Stiletto or Long Tweezers
- Iron and ironing mat
- Spray Starch
- Pins or Wonder Clips
Preparations Prior to Class
- To finish the hot pad in class, cut all the fabrics and Insul Bright batting as instructed in the pattern before class.
