Power

BM12Mobile
Power Switch / Charge Status and Battery capacity LEDs
The power switch on the BassMaster Mobile is located on the top panel just above the D.I. switches and the fuse is located on the rear panel. The BassMaster Mobile will always be in charge mode when the unit is plugged into the wall. The power indicator will be illuminated when plugged in. It will be illuminated red whenever the battery is not 100% fully charged and will turn green when charging is complete. When the unit is turned on the battery charge status LEDs will illuminate to let you know the state of charge of the battery. When the battery is almost fully depleted the left most charge indicator will turn red indicating the unit must be charged.

Note: The power is reduced when running in Battery Mode to preserve battery life.

BM15C

Power Switch and LED
The power switch and fuse for the BM15C are located on the rear panel. The power LED on the top panel of the BM15C illuminates green when the unit is powered on.

0dB/Passive, -6dB/Active Inputs

The input circuit has been designed for most basses but, as we know, all basses are not created equal. The BassMasters feature inputs that accommodate a wide range of basses by including a 0 dB input (for basses with lower signals such as passive basses) and a -6 dB input (for basses with stronger signals). For basses with standard, single-coil pickups,we suggest the 0 dB input and for active, or extremely ‘hot’ pickups such as humbuckers, try using the -6 dB input. In all cases, the Gain control setting will establish the type of clean or overdriven sound being produced by the amp.

Bright and Deep Switches
The BassMaster amplifiers come equipped with the option to pre-contour your tone. The setting of these switches will also appear at the pre-EQ output of the D.I. The Bright switch will add extra sheen. The Deep switch will provide a mid-scoop.

Gain Control and Limit LED
The BassMaster’s Gain control allows you to set the level of the signal before it’s sent to the tone controls as well as to the Drive control. Higher Gain setting will allow you to push the signal into the onboard limiter for more saturated bass tones.

Drive Control

The BassMaster’s Drive control is used in combination with the Gain control. It’s comprised of a separate gain circuit that is mixed in parallel with the original signal. The EQ of this circuit is designed to provide more girth to the original signal. If the Gain and Drive controls are both set to higher levels this will also provide a saturated overdrive sound if desired. Turning this control fully counterclockwise effectively takes the Drive out of the signal path.

Tone Controls
A wide range of sonic possibilities, covering the entire audio spectrum, can be achieved using the four active tone controls on the BassMaster amplifiers. Each tone control has a range of ±15 db. The center position denotes a neutral or nominal setting for all controls. The Bass and Treble controls are normal shelving tone controls. The Low Mid control is centered at 220 Hz and the Hi Mid control is centered at 500 Hz.

User Tip: When starting out, center all the tone controls and adjust while playing until the desired tone is achieved.

Master Control
The Master volume adjusts the overall signal level sent to the amplifier; it is your primary “loudness” control. In the BassMaster amplifiers the Master Volume is also configured as a power level control. This configuration will allow you to achieve your desired level of saturation at any power level you desire all the way down to a few milliwatts.

Phones Jack
The Phones jack has been provided for connecting headphones which allows practice or recording without making any audible sound through the speakers. When you plug headphones in the BassMaster, the amplifier is disconnected from the speaker/s.

Note: When the Phones jack is used, the XLR Line Out and Effects Send jack are active and still function.

Media In
This input can be used to plug in your phone or an MP3 player for jamming along to your favorite tracks. The level is controlled by the master volume and the volume you set on your player.

Preamp OUT & Amp IN Jacks
The Preamp Out jack can be used as an effects send or for sending signal to another power amp, the Amp In can be used as an effects return. The Preamp Out sends the signal direct from the BassMaster’s preamp. The Amp In jack goes directly to the Master volume of the BassMaster power amplifier, bypassing the internal preamp.

Note: The output signal of the Preamp Out is set at 0 VU. When using the Preamp Out for an effects loop, it’s recommended to use professional-grade signal processing equipment (pedal effects might not have enough headroom).

DI / Line Out XLR
The BassMasters are equipped with a balanced D.I./Line output. You can select a direct, clean signal (Pre-EQ setting which delivers the sound directly to the Balanced Line Out) or tap the signal after the Preamp (Post-EQ). Both signals are routed to the Balanced Line Out before the Master volume. A Ground Lift (lifts Pin 1 of the XLR) is also provided to help when routing signals directly to other equipment or mixing consoles.

Note: In the Lift position, Pin 1 of the XLR is DIDI disconnected which might help reduce ground loop hum when routing signals directly to other equipment or mixing consoles. If ground loop hum is not present, you may get superior shielding from outside noise sources with the button in the GND setting. In most cases, it is recommended to have the switch set to GND.

User Tip: When using the XLR Line out for recording direct-to-computer, we would recommend you insert a suitable device between the amp and computer such as A.R.T.’s TubeMP with USB for extra gain control and USB conversion.

Tweeter In/Out Switch
The Tweeter switch disconnects the internal tweeter which pro-vides a softer and more classic bass amplifier tone, for more brightness set the switch to the in position.

Speaker Output
The Speakon Speaker Output connector allows you to connect an external 4-ohm (min) speaker cabinet. Using an external speaker DOES NOT defeat the internal speaker!
