SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Read and follow the safety precautions listed below, failure to do so could result in injury to your person or damage to your ride-on.
- Ride on smooth, paved surfaces away from motor vehicles.
- Avoid sharp bumps, drainage grates, steep hills and sudden surface changes which may cause the Pony to stop suddenly.
- Avoid streets and surfaces with water, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves and other debris.
- Do not ride in wet weather as it impairs traction and visibility.
- Do not allow child to ride the Pony in the dark. A child could encounter unexpected obstacles and have an accident. Operate the Pony only in the daytime or a well-lit area.
- Avoid excessive speed associated with downhill rides.
- Watch out for pedestrians.
- Check and secure all fasteners before every ride.
- Replace worn or broken parts immediately.
- Small parts like screws can be swallowed if they fall off the Pony. Keep children younger than 3 years away from the Pony.
- Young children should be supervised by an adult.
- Always wear shoes or sneakers.
- It is recommended that rider always wear a properly fitted helmet, gloves, knee pads and elbow-pads. It is a good practice to start training children very young regarding the importance of helmet use. When children are older and riding Pony, it is important that they use a helmet each and every time they ride. For this reason, even while riding a Pony, it is a good idea to familiarize your child with helmet use, so that it becomes a habit for life.
- Riders should sit on the saddle seat only, do not sit on the Pony’s body.
- Only one rider at a time.
- The Pony only moves forward. Do not try to move it backward as damage may occur to the wheels.
- NEVER place your hand between the saddle seat and the Pony’s body.
- Store the Pony upright in a dry, ventilated place when not in use. Use with caution as this product requires skill to operate safely to avoid falls, collisions, and injuries to yourself (the rider) and others.
RIDING
Sit the rider squarely on the pony facing forward. The rider should grip the
handles on the pony’s head, with hips sitting on the saddle and feet treading
on the pedals.
Forward motion is attained by the rider’s repeated actions:
- Tread heavily on the pedals and rise up from saddle — the pony’s hind legs fold forward.
- Sit back down in the saddle and bend legs to relieve pressure from the pedals — the front legs of the pony extend forwards.
While repeating the above rider movements to move the pony forward, the direction is controlled by turning the handles left or right.
CAUTION
Please make sure the pony is fully assembled and inspected before riding.
If any problems are found, DO NOT let a child ride the Pony until it is
repaired.
