Specialized Care RTG Toe Guard Pillow Instructions
How to Use
The Rainbow® Toe Guard prevents a patient from kicking or otherwise interfering with a monitoring device attached to the opposite foot. It is covered in a dark teal vinyl that is soft, yet durable and easily cleaned.
To Use:
- Position the Toe Guard so that the wide end extends beyond the soles of the feet, and the ankles are in position to be closed in the short straps on the sides of the guard.
- Close the short straps around each ankle. Secure the straps comfortably, but snugly enough that the Toe Guard will not migrate up the legs.
- Place the long, yellow belt around the Toe Guard, the patient’s legs and either a stabilizing board (if one is used) or the dental chair. Engage the buckle, and pull on the free end of the belt to tighten.
To Clean:
After each use, clean the entire surface with mild soap or detergent to remove
any contaminants. Apply disinfectant to the surface with either a spray or
wipes, following the manufacturer’s directions, then wipe dry. Do not allow
disinfecting agent to remain on the vinyl, as this may degrade the material
and reduce the life of the product.
Avoid heat.
Be sure the feet do not extend beyond the end of the Toe Guard.
