Product Usage Instructions
Installation
Tools Required: Flat-head screwdriver, Phillips-head screwdriver
Installation of lights with one wall switch (single pole)
- Turn off the power at the circuit breaker!
- Remove the existing switch from the wall by detaching the wallplate and pulling the switch away.
- Disconnect all three wires from the switch (Ground, Neutral, Hot, Load).
- Connect the wires to the dimmer as follows:
- Connect the ground wire from the wall box to the green wire on the dimmer.
- Connect the Neutral wire from the wall box to the white wire on the dimmer.
- Connect the Hot wire from the wall box to the black wire on the dimmer.
- Connect the Load wire from the wall box to the red wire on the dimmer.
- Cap the blue wire with a small wire connector.
- Mount the dimmer using the provided screws.
- Attach the wallplate adapter to the dimmer and snap on the wallplate.

Use the Lightbar Slider to adjust. -
Replacing light bulbs using Front Accessible Service Switch (FASS)
Pull the FASS out on the dimmer to remove power at the light socket for bulb replacement. -
Pico paddle remote
Pull the Front Accessible Service Switch (FASS) out to the open position for remote control usage.

Installing your dimmer
Installation for lights with one wall switch (single pole)
Turn power off at circuit breaker!
WARNING : SHOCK HAZARD! May result in Serious Injury or Death. Turn off power at circuit breaker or fuse before installing.
Important note:
We’ve included instructions for when a single switch is controlling the
lights. For installation instructions when two or more switches are
controlling a light, please visit

Remove existing switch from wall
Remove the wallplate from switch. Remove the switch and pull it away from
the wall.
Disconnect all three wires* from the switch.

Ganging and derating
Important note:
Multi-gang installations may reduce the dimmer’s maximum wattage rating. See
the chart below for maximum wattage information.

- When using MLV loads the dimmer must be switched to forward phase. Follow the instructions at www.casetawireless.com/change_phase
Important notes:
- For indoor use only.
- Operate between 32 ˚F (0 ˚C) and 104 ˚F (40 ˚C).
Connect the dimmer
- Connect the bare copper (or green) “ground” wire from the wallbox to the green wire on the dimmer using a large wire connector.
- Connect the Neutral wire from the wallbox to the white wire on the dimmer.
- Connect the Hot wire from the wallbox to the black wire on the dimmer using a large wire connector.
- Connect the Load wire from the wallbox to the red wire on the dimmer using a large wire connector.
- Cap the blue wire with a small wire connector.
Important notes:
- Dimmer does not work if Hot (black wire) and Load (red wire) are reversed.
- Dimmer does not work if Neutral (white wire) is not connected.
Mount the dimmer
Use the mounting screws provided, leaving them loose for this step.
Attach the wallplate
- Attach the wallplate adapter to the dimmer using the screws provided.
- Tighten the mounting screws on the dimmer and the wallplate adapter.
- Snap on the wallplate.
Using your controls
Replacing light bulbs using Front Accessible Service Switch (FASS)
Pull the FASS out on the dimmer to remove power at the light socket.
Pico paddle remote
Adjusting low-end trim
- Pull the Front Accessible Service Switch (FASS) out to the open position.
- Press and HOLD the Off button.
- Continue to HOLD the Off button and push the FASS in until the light bar flashes.
- Release the Off button and adjust the slider to desired low-end brightness.
- Press Off to save settings.

NOTE : You can mix and match dimmable LEDs as well as halogen and incandescent light bulbs, with Caséta Wireless dimmers.
Dimmable ballasts require low-end trim. Dimmable LED light bulbs vary in their dimming performance. If you’re using these bulbs and they flicker or turn off, please visit www.casetawireless.com/lowend for information on adjusting the dimmer for best bulb performance. To use your dimmer in a Caséta by Lutron system
With a smartphone or tablet (Smart Hub required, sold separately)
The Caséta Diva Smart ELV+ Dimmer can be controlled from a smartphone when
used with the Lutron smart hub (formerly smart bridge) and the Lutron app. If
you are using the dimmer and remote with the Lutron smart hub follow the
instructions below.
NOTE : If you are using the dimmer and remote with another manufacturer’s bridge, please refer to that manufacturer’s instructions for set-up.

- Press and hold “off” button on dimmer

Troubleshooting
Symptoms | Probable cause and action |
---|---|
Light does not turn on or the dimmer light bar does not light up. | • Light |
bulb(s) burned out.
• Breaker is OFF or tripped.
• Light not properly installed.
• Wiring error:
– Ensure that the white wire is connected to Neutral.
• FASS switch on the dimmer is in the Off position.
Light does not respond to Pico remote.| • The dimmer failed to pair with Pico remote; see Pairing the dimmer and Pico remote.
• The dimmer is already at the light level the Pico remote is sending.
• The Pico remote is outside the 30 ft (9 m) operating range.
• The Pico remote battery is low.
• The Pico remote battery is installed incorrectly.
• Bulbs turn off while being dimmed.
• Bulbs turn on at high light level but do not turn on at a low light level.
• Bulbs flicker or flash when dimmed to a low light level.

Load is off and all LEDs blink three times.| • Check wiring:
– Verify that the red and white wires are not swapped.
• Change the phase selection:
– See Step 10 on page 1.
• Over current:
– Verify that the load does not exceed the maximum rating.
Load is off and the 3 middle LEDs blink 4 times.| The dimmer is in Over Temperature Protection (OTP) mode.
• See Step 3 Ganging and Derating. Ensure the dimmer is not overloaded.
• Reset the dimmer by using the Front Accessible Service Switch (FASS); See Using your Controls section. Pull out the FASS and push it back in.
Bottom 2 and top 3 LEDs are blinking.| The wrong phase selection has been chosen. See Step 10 on page 1.

CAUTION
Use only with permanently installed fixtures with dimmable LED, dimmable CFL,
halogen, or incandescent lamps. To avoid overheating and possible damage to
other equipment, do not use to control receptacles, motor-driven appliances,
or transformer-supplied appliances.
Codes
Install in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.
Grounding
When no “grounding means” exist in wallbox, the National Electrical Code
(NEC®) allows a control to be installed as a replacement if 1) a nonmetallic,
noncombustible faceplate is used with nonmetallic attachment screws or 2) the
circuit is protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). When
installing a control according to these methods, cap or remove green wire
before screwing control into wallbox.

Q: What should I do if my dimmer does not work?
A: Ensure that the Hot (black wire) and Load (red wire) are not reversed.
Also, make sure that the Neutral (white wire) is connected.
