A: Used batteries should not be thrown away with household waste. They must be returned to a seller or collection point for recycling or proper disposal as per regulations.

Safety instructions

For your own safety, please read these operating instructions in full and follow the installation, operating and safety instructions exactly. The operating instructions and safety instructions are an integral part of the appliance. Please keep these documents in a suitable place.
Please pass them on to the buyer in the event of a subsequent resale to prevent incorrect operation and to avoid danger.

Installation

  • If the appliance has been exposed to extreme cold (e.g. during transportation), wait until it has warmed up to room temperature and the condensation has completely evaporated before starting it up.
  • The appliance must be set up horizontally on a firm, level surface. When installing on resonance dampers or decoupling elements, ensure that the stability of the appliance is not impaired.
  • Note the weight of the appliance. Never place the appliance on an unstable surface. The appliance may fall and cause serious injury. Many injuries, especially to children, can be avoided by observing the following simple precautions:
    • Only use furniture that can safely support the appliance.
    • Make sure that the appliance does not protrude beyond the edges of the supporting piece of furniture.
    • Do not place the appliance on high furniture (e.g. bookshelves) without anchoring both furniture and appliance securely.
    • Make children aware of the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the appliance or its controls.
  • The appliance must be set up in such a way that all appliance connections cannot be touched (especially by children). If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
  • The device is designed for operation in temperate climates and at altitudes of up to 2000 m above sea level .
  • Permissible operating temperature range +10 … +35 °C .
  • The appliance may only be installed in a well-ventilated, dry location, avoiding direct sunlight and close proximity to radiators. The appliance must not be set up near heat-producing, heat-sensitive or highly flammable objects or appliances.
  • When installing in shelves or cabinets, ensure that there is sufficient air supply and that the heat from the appliance can be dissipated. Heat build-up impairs the service life of the appliance and is a source of danger. Unless otherwise specified in the operating instructions, there must be at least 10 cm of free space around the appliance for heat dissipation.
  • The device is not suitable for use on a soft surface (such as bed linen, pillows, etc.).
  • No heat-insulating objects (e.g. blankets or other appliances with a flat base plate without feet) may be placed directly on the housing.
  • Do not place any naked flames, such as candles, on the appliance.

Operation

  • Continuous listening to very loud program material via earphones, headphones and loudspeakers can lead to permanent hearing loss. Prevent damage to your health and avoid continuous listening at high volumes.
  • Overvoltages in the power supply network, the cable network or on antenna systems, such as those that can occur during thunderstorms (lightning strikes) or static discharges, pose a risk to the device.
  • Disconnect all mains and antenna plugs of your hi-fi system from the sockets if there is a risk of overvoltage (e.g. during an approaching thunderstorm)
  • All mains supply and antenna systems to which the device is connected must comply with the applicable regulations and be professionally installed by an approved installation company.

Device openings

  • Do not allow any liquids or foreign bodies to enter the appliance through the openings. Mains voltage is present inside the appliance and there is a risk of fatal electric shock.
  • Protect the appliance from dripping and splashing water and do not place flower vases or other containers with liquids on the appliance.
  • The appliance openings must not be covered by objects such as tablecloths or newspapers.

Connection

  • Appliances with a three-pin mains plug may only be operated from a properly earthed socket outlet. All mains supply and antenna systems to which the appliance is connected must comply with the applicable regulations and be professionally installed by an approved installation company.
  • The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply for servicing and maintenance. Please ensure that the plug is easily accessible and usable.
  • The power supply required for the device can be found on the label on the power supply socket. The appliance must not be connected to other power supplies. If the appliance is not to be used for a longer period of time, the mains plug should be removed from the socket.
  • Mains cables must be laid in such a way that there is no risk of damage (e.g. from foot traffic or furniture). Particular care must be taken at the plugs, distributors and connection points of the appliance. Do not exert excessive force on the mains plug.
  • Connection points marked with the symbol can carry high voltages and are dangerous to touch. Do not touch these connections! Only pre-assembled cables approved for this purpose may be connected to these connections. Work on these connections may only be carried out by a trained electrician. Disconnect the mains plug before working on these connections.
  • Only original accessories or accessories that are approved and comply with all applicable legal regulations may be connected to the device.
  • Some devices can be supplied and charged via a universal USB power supply unit. Only use a power supply unit approved by an authority that complies with local regulations (e.g. UL, CSA, VDE, CCC).

On and off switch

  • The on/off button on the front of the appliance is not a mains isolator. Even if all displays and possibly the display are dark, parts of the appliance may still be connected to the mains voltage (standby mode). To disconnect the appliance completely from the mains, the mains plug must be pulled out.
  • If the appliance is not to be used for a longer period of time, it is advisable to unplug it from the mains.

Duty of supervision
Like all electrical appliances, this appliance should not be left unattended. Make sure that it is out of reach of small children.

Repair and damage

  • The appliance may only be opened by a qualified specialist. Repairs and the replacement of fuses must be carried out by an authorized specialist workshop. Modifications to the device or repairs or other interventions by workshops or other third parties not authorized by will result in the device losing its approval and operating permit.
  • Apart from the operations described in the operating instructions, the user must not carry out any work on the appliance.
  • If the appliance is damaged or is suspected of not functioning properly, it should be unplugged from the mains immediately and taken to an authorized specialist workshop for inspection.

Intended use

  • The device is intended exclusively for sound and/or picture reproduction in the home in dry rooms, taking into account all the information provided in the operating instructions.
  • For all other applications, especially in medical or safety-relevant areas, the approval and suitability of the device for this application must be clarified with the manufacturer beforehand and approved in writing.

Battery change

  • Different batteries or rechargeable batteries are used depending on the remote control model. Whether the remote control of your device has a replaceable battery or a permanently installed rechargeable battery and how to replace the batteries or charge the rechargeable battery is described in more detail in the operating instructions supplied with the device.
  • Never use a battery or rechargeable battery type other than that specified. Observe the polarity of the batteries. This is marked in the battery compartment. Insert new batteries into the battery compartment according to the marking. Please ensure that all batteries are always replaced.
  • DO NOT attempt to remove a rechargeable battery from the product. Contact the service department (e-service@ta-hifi.com) or qualified specialist personnel for replacement.

Attention!
Batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

The following also applies to devices with button cell batteries:

  • Do not swallow the battery as there is a risk of chemical burns. If this button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause serious internal burns within 2 hours, which can lead to death.
  • If you suspect that batteries may have been swallowed or have entered any part of the body, seek medical attention immediately.
  • Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly.
  • Replacement only with the same or an equivalent type.
  • Keep new and used batteries away from children.
  • If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children
  • Batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
  • Very low air pressure can cause the battery to explode or flammable liquids or gases to escape.
  • Protect the remote control from moisture, cold, heat and dust.

Note on the disposal of used batteries:
Used batteries must not be disposed of with household waste! In accordance with the Battery Ordinance (BattVO), they must be returned to the seller (specialist retailer) or to a collection point so that they can be recycled or disposed of without causing any damage. The cities provide collection containers for this purpose and/or accept used batteries at collection vehicles.

Care of the device

  • Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning the appliance.
  • The surfaces of the appliance should only be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any harsh cleaning agents or solvents!
  • Before recommissioning, it must be ensured that there are no short circuits at the connection points and that all connections are correct.

Storage

  • Store the appliance in its original packaging in a dry, frost-free place.
  • Storage temperature 0…40 °C.
  • If the appliance has been stored or has not been in operation for a long time (> 2 years), it is essential that it is checked by a specialist workshop before being put back into operation.

Disposal of the device

Local collection points for electronic waste are available for the subsequent disposal of this product.
