SVEN PS-950 Party Speaker System

Product Information

The SVEN PS-950 Party Speaker System is designed for operation with PC, notebooks, and other mobile devices via Bluetooth protocol. It features two microphone inputs with echo function, a line input, a built-in FM Tuner, and a player that supports USB flash and microSD memory cards.

Operation Modes

Player Mode

Attention! The file system of a USB flash carrier should be FAT32 with a maximum volume of 32 GB. To switch to USB/microSD card mode, press the MODE button (j) on the speaker or b on the remote control until the display shows USB/card.

Usage Instructions

To switch between operating modes, use the MODE button on the control panel (j).
For AC power control, use button 2 (k).
In player mode, navigate through folders using the FOLDER button (l).

FAQ

How do I connect my device via Bluetooth?
You may need to enter the code 0000 to connect some device models via Bluetooth. If the item is already registered in the device list of a source, the second search mode activation might not be necessary. Choose the item name SVEN PS-950 and initiate the connect command on the source.
What are the supported devices for NFC functionality?
NFC functionality works only with Android devices running version 4.1 and later.

BUYER RECOMMENDATIONS

Unpack the device carefully. Make sure there are no accessories left in the box. Check up the device for damage; if the product was damaged during transportation, address the firm which carried out the delivery; if the product functions incorrectly, address the dealer at once.
Shipping and transportation equipment is permitted only in the original container.
Does not require special conditions for realization.
Dispose of in accordance with regulations for the disposal of household and computer equipment.
The date of manufacture of the product is indicated on the box.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Caution! High voltage inside! To avoid the risk of electric shock do not open or touch elements inside.

To avoid electric shock, do not open the MSS and do not perform repairs by yourself. Service and repairs should be performed only by qualified specialists in an authorized service center. The list of authorized service centers is available on www.sven.fi.
Do not touch the MSS power cord plug pins for 2 seconds after unplugging it from the mains.
Do not put foreign objects inside the holes of the MSS.
Protect the MSS from high humidity, water, and dust.
Protect the MSS from heating: do not place it closer than 1 m from a heat source. Do not expose it to direct sunlight.
Do not place any open flame sources on or close to MSS.
Do not place the MSS in poorly ventilated areas. Leave an air gap of 10 cm or more. When operating the MSS, do not put any devices on it, do not cover it with a cloth or other objects preventing it from cooling.
Do not use any chemical agents for cleaning. Clean it with a dry soft cloth only.
If a mains plug or appliance connector is used as a disconnecting device, the disconnecting device must remain easily accessible.

SVEN PS-950 party speaker system is designed for operation with PC, notebooks, and other mobile devices by means of data transfer via Bluetooth protocol. It can be also used in inter-net telephony, during video conferences, in multimedia applications, in interactive games, for speech recognition, and in foreign language teaching. There are two microphone inputs with an echo function, a line input, a built-in FM Tuner, and a player with USB flash and microSD memory cards.

MIC IN1: 6.3 mm jack — connector for connecting a microphone
MIC IN2: 6.3 mm jack — connector for connecting a microphone.
LINE IN: 3.5 mm mini-jack connector for connecting an audio signal (telephone, MP3 player, etc.).
TF CARD: a slot for connecting a microSD card.
USB: a connector for connecting USB flash.

TREBLE/BASS: Adjusts the gain level of high and low frequencies.
MIC.PRI: adjust the volume level, echo effect level, high and low frequencies of the microphone (short press), and enable microphone priority mode (long press)

0-9: numeric field for entering the tracking number (in Player mode) or station number/frequency in FM radio mode.
REPEAT: repeat mode selection button (in Player mode).
MUTE: mute the sound.
RESET: reset audio settings (long press).
EQ: enable BASS BOOST mode (short press); switch equalizer modes POP/ROCK/JAZZ/CLAS/FLAT (long press);
FOLD+: switch to the next folder in the list.
LIGHT: switch backlight modes (short press); turn on/off the backlight (long press).
M.PRE: enable microphone priority mode.
FOLD-: switch to the previous folder from the list.
TREBLE-: reduces the treble boost level.

CONNECTION AND OPERATION
Attention! The battery must be fully charged before use. Charging the speaker battery

Connect the speaker to the charger using a power cable. When charging, the indicator lights up red. The indicator lights up green if the battery is charged.
The speaker uses the battery as an integral part of the equipment, so do not attempt to remove or replace it as this may void the warranty or damage the unit itself.

OPERATION MODES Bluetooth mode

Wireless data transfer via the Bluetooth protocol enables to connection speaker system to compatible devices. The maximum radius of action of data transfer is 10 m. Such obsta-cles as walls or other electronic devices can interfere with the signal transfer.
Press the “MODE” button (2) on the remote control, or the BT button i on the device panel until “bLUE” flashes on the display.
It is necessary to select the search mode of devices with Bluetooth on a signal source (telephone, notebook, smartphone, etc.). “SVEN PS-950”, message will be displayed on the screen which is to be connected to*.
When a connection is successful, there will be a short beep and the indication of the search mode on the speaker system is over**.

Connecting to the speaker via Bluetooth using NFC
NFС works only with Android devices (version 4.1 and later). To connect the speaker to a smartphone, the smartphone must be equipped with an NFC chip. It must be enabled in the wireless settings.

Turn on the speaker system Bluetooth mode.
Hold the phone close to the NFC mark u on the top panel and wait for a short beep to confirm a successful speaker connection.

Note. You need to allow connections on the phone (depending on the phone’s operating system).

You might have to enter the “0000” code to connect some models of devices via Bluetooth. ** If the item has been already registered in the device list of a source, then the second search mode activation is not obligatory. Choose the item name “SVEN PS-950” and the “connect” command on the source.

Radio mode
Attention! To improve the quality of radio signal reception, connect the 3.5 mm mini-jack cables (included) to the LINE IN input 3

Turn on the speaker system — press the button MODE 10 on the speaker or 2 on the Remote control several times until the display shows the station frequency.

Player mode
Attention! The file system of a USB flash carrier is FAT32. Maximum volume is 32 GB. Turn on the speaker system in USB/microSD card mode — press button MODE 10 on the speaker or 2 on the Remote control several times until the display
shows “USB”/”card”.
The use in the wired mode (LINE IN)

The speaker system can be used as an external device for amplifying any audio source. Connect a 3.5 mini-jack to the audio input LINE IN 3 Turn the speakers to the LINE IN mode — press the MODE 10 on speaker or 2 o n Remote control several times until “LINE” appears on the display.

Connecting an additional speaker
For model PS-950 you can connect an additional speaker.

On the slave speaker press button TWS n on the control panel.
The slave speaker will display “SLAU”
Connect the signal source via Bluetooth. Both speakers will appear in the search list as one device.
