Product Usage Instructions
Node Address Configuration
To configure the node address, use the provided switches as follows:
- Switch 1=128, 2=64, 3=32, 4=16, 5=8, 6=4, 7=2, 8=1
- Turn off the switches corresponding to the desired node address and add their values to obtain the correct node address (On=0, Off=1)
Jumper Settings
Configure the interrupt request (IRQ) and onboard terminator using the
provided jumpers as follows:
- IRQ settings: Try IRQ5, IRQ3, or IRQ4 in that order for PC/AT compatibility
- Onboard Terminator: Use onboard terminator if card is at either end of a linear bus network segment
Boot ROM Address and Settings
Set the boot ROM address and other settings using the provided jumpers and
switches as specified in the manual.
DMA Channel and I/O Base Address
Configure DMA channel and I/O base address using the provided switches
accordingly.
Factory Configured Settings:
These settings are unused and can be left as factory configured.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
Q: How do I know which node address to set?
A: Refer to the table provided in the manual to determine the correct node address based on the switch settings. -
Q: What IRQ settings should I use for PC/AT compatibility?
A: Try IRQ5, IRQ3, or IRQ4 in that order when configuring the interrupt request. -
Q: When should I use the onboard terminator?
A: Use the onboard terminator if the card is located at either end of a linear bus network segment.

A total of 255 node address settings are available. The switches are a binary
representation of the addresses. Switch 1 is the Least Significant Bit and
switch 8 is the Most Significant Bit. The swit following decimal values:
switch 1=128, 2=64, 3=32, 4=16, 5=8, 6=4, 7=2, 8=1. Turn off the swit the
values of the off switches to obtain the correct node address.
