AI auto-tracking function instructions
Currently, this camera model supports two AI tracking modes, namely speaker (human) tracking and area tracking. These can be switched and configured through the web interface and remote control. Let’s explore them further below.”
-
Logging into the Web Interface for Control
-
Presenter/Person Tracking: Purpose: By modifying parameters in the web interface, different close-up ratios can be achieved, and settings for enabling/disabling tracking in specific areas, displaying the person’s position, etc., can be configured. If needed, you can also choose whether to display tracking-related prompt information. Operational steps are as follows: (1) Enter the current IP address of the camera, along with the account and password (refer to the user manual), in the browser to log in to the camera’s web interface.
-
Go to the “Tracking” option, select “Presenter Mode,” and, in the tracking stopped (Track off) state, configure the tracking parameters. Tracking Modes: Presenter/Zone Tracking, two options; The default mode is Presenter Mode
-
Next, we can consider the desired timeout duration (Target Retention Time), which is set to a default of 6 seconds, with a maximum of 10 seconds.
- Auto Zoom: Typically, keep the default setting. When “Auto Zoom” is turned off, the camera lens can still move but will maintain the current magnification and cannot zoom in or out.
- Auto Tilt: Usually, keep the default setting. When “Auto Tilt” is turned off, the camera lens can only move horizontally.
- Target Retention Time: You can keep the default setting.
It is a crucial function to set how long the camera lens should return to the home position or starting position after losing track of the target. Changes made here take effect immediately.
-
Choose the desired close-up effect; Figure Size: By selecting different modes, users can customize the proportion of the person in the close-up shot, which is a crucial function. Changes made here take effect immediately. Full Body (Full): The close-up shot includes the entire body of the tracked target, as shown in the image below.
- Half Body (Upper): The close-up shot includes the portion of the tracked target from the knees up, as shown in the image below.
- Close-up (Close): The close-up shot includes the portion of the tracked target from the waist up, as shown in the image below.
- Custom: Selecting this option allows you to adjust the proportion size below. Note that if the set proportion is large, the tracked target’s proportion in the camera frame will also be larger. When the tracked target moves rapidly, the lens may not keep up.
-
Select the tracking start position; Tracking Start Position: Users can choose the position of the camera lens when tracking starts and stops. Currently, two modes are provided: “Current Position” and “Preset 1.” If “Current Position” is selected, the camera lens position at the start of tracking will be the current location; similarly, the lens position at the end of tracking will stop at the current location. If “Preset 1” is selected, an additional preset position needs to be set for the camera. When tracking is initiated, the lens will first move to preset position 1. If someone enters the video frame at this point, the camera will automatically track. After losing the tracked target (exceeding the timeout duration), the lens will automatically move to preset position 1.
-
Choose the position of the person in the close-up shot; Character Position: Default is centered. Left or right alignment is optional, and this function is often used in live broadcasting scenarios.
-
According to the requirements of the application scenario, you can choose whether to enable “Humanoid Frame” and “Tracking Prompt,” with default settings. However, in live broadcasting scenarios, these are often not activated for easy on-the-fly adjustments during the broadcast. Humanoid Frame: Provides three options – Debug/Off/Default;
- Default: When tracking is initiated and there are multiple people in front of the camera, this frame automatically appears. After selecting the tracking target using the directional keys and confirming with Home, the frame disappears, and the camera starts tracking.
- Off: When selecting the tracking target, the humanoid frame is not displayed at all. This feature is suitable for live broadcasting scenarios.
- Debug: As long as tracking is enabled, the humanoid frame will continuously appear on the tracking target. This feature is only suitable for debugging or demonstrations.
- Tracking Hint: Provides two modes – On/Off; On When toggling tracking, there will be a hint in the upper left corner of the video. Off: When toggling tracking, there will be no hint in the upper left corner of the video. This feature is also suitable for live broadcasting scenarios.
-
Start tracking, select the tracking target using the directional keys, and then press Home to confirm.
2. Zone Tracking (Zone); Purpose: Divides the frequently active area of the tracked target into several zones (A, B, C, D) as needed, each with corresponding preset positions saved. When the tracked target enters a specific zone, the camera will automatically invoke the corresponding preset position, enabling tracking. -
Operational Steps:
-
Enter the current IP address of the camera, along with the account and password (refer to the user manual), in the browser to log in to the camera’s web interface.
-
Enter the “Tracking” option, select “Zone Mode,” and, in the tracking stopped (Track off) state, configure the tracking parameters.
-
Use the direction keys and zoom in/out function on the Web interface to adjust the camera position. Set multiple preset positions such as Zone A, Zone B, etc., and click “Save.” The number of preset positions used in actual scenarios is at the discretion of the user, but currently, the maximum is 4. If there are errors in the settings, they can be deleted or reset.
-
Set the tracking starting zone and initiate tracking; Tracking Start Area: You can choose any Zone position as the starting or ending position for tracking. When tracking is initiated, the lens will first move to this Zone position. If someone enters the video frame at this point, the camera will automatically track it. After losing the tracked target, the lens will automatically move to this Zone position.
