Battery FAQS:
1. Why is the battery recognized but still not charging?
If the battery can be recognized and used normally after installation,
everything is normal, but if there is a situation where the battery cannot be
charged, you can refer to the following reasons.
-
When the voltage of the connected power supply is too high or too low, or when the specifications of the power adapter do not match (e.g., when connecting to an airline power adapter), the laptop power management system will prohibit the charging current from entering the battery in order to protect the battery, but the charging power can still be used for the normal operation of the Mac. At this point you can try to replace the adapter to check if this is the cause of the problem.
-
There may be installation problems, at this time, please enter the system according to the following steps to check the battery information to see if the battery status is normal.
Find the Apple logo and click on “About This Mac”, then click on “System Report” to enter the hardware section of your Mac, and look for “Power” in the list, and then click on it to check the status of your battery. -
The power management system of the laptop restricts charging, in this case, please refer to “How to reset the SMC” above to troubleshoot the problem.
-
The power adapter may be damaged, please try to replace a new adapter to charge to troubleshoot the problem.
-
There may be poor contact between the laptop and battery ports or damage to the laptop ports.
Check the ports for damage and try to troubleshoot by cleaning the laptop port and battery ports and shutting the laptop back on.
