Instructions

WARNING : When using electric tools, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other.) To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT modify this plug in any way.

Safety Information

  1. The work environment should be clean, dry, well-lit, and clear of flammable materials.
  2. Do not use outdoors or near water.
  3. Do not expose the gun to rain, moisture, or direct sunlight.
  4. Keep away from children and store locked up when not in use.
  5. Always wear safety glasses – a warning was given in compliance with ANSI Z87.1.
  6. Do not carry a glue gun by a cord or unplug from the outlet by pulling the electrical cord.
  7. Disconnect the glue gun when not in use.
  8. A glue gun is on when plugged in. Do not leave it unattended.
  9. Do not use hot melt glue to replace structural fasteners.
  10. Do not use extension cords.
  11. Do not use any material other than recommended glue sticks.
  12. Avoid accidental discharge. Do not touch glue stick or trigger except to dispense glue. Feeding or pushing the glue stick with too much force into the heated gun may cause hot glue to be unexpectedly expelled from the nozzle or to flow back from the inlet tube.
  13. Allow the glue gun to cool before storing it.
  14. Save these safety instructions for future reference.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Operating Instructions

  1. Plug into 120V electrical outlet.
  2. Insert a 0.43” diameter mini glue stick into the back of the glue gun (feeder tube).
  3. Allow the gun to heat for 5 minutes.
  4. Squeeze the trigger to dispense glue. More glue is dispensed by squeezing the trigger again. Continue glue flow by adding additional glue sticks. Note: Requires approximately 2 glue sticks for initial startup.
  5. Press surfaces to be glued together immediately.
  6. Do not pull glue sticks from a glue gun. If changing glue, feed the remainder of the glue stick through the glue gun.
  7. Unplug after use and allow to cool before storing.

Troubleshooting

  • The glue gun will not heat up : Make sure the glue gun is plugged into a 120V electrical outlet. If the glue gun still does not work, the internal fuse of the glue gun may be blown, and the glue gun is not repairable. DO NOT USE.
  • Glue backs up at inlet tube : Glue sticks may be the wrong size. Use only the recommended 0.43” diameter glue sticks. Note: DO NOT elevate the front of the glue gun. Always use side fins or attached stand.

CAUTION : DO NOT touch the glue gun nozzle or melted glue; the temperature can reach 380° F. If accidental contact occurs, do not remove the glue. Immediately put the burned area into cold water. Always wear protective clothing – safety glasses, gloves, long-sleeve t-shirt, and pants. Keep away from flammable materials. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for consequential or indirect damages from the use of this product.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Getting the Nozzle Clean

  • Remove the glue gun from the wall and let it cool down after each use. Wipe off the extra glue with a clean, dry cloth or a piece of aluminum foil while the tip is still warm, not hot.
  • Cleaning every so often: If the barrel gets jammed, heat the gun and use a needle or pin to clear it out. Do not use anything sharp that could hurt the tip.

Making the Body Clean

  • Cleaning the outside: Wipe the outside of the glue gun clean with a wet cloth. Do not use rough chemicals or materials that can hurt the plastic body.
  • Cleaning the Inside: Every so often, you can clean the inside parts by taking them apart according to the manufacturer’s directions. Carefully remove any glue that has built up.

Taking Care of Batteries

  • Charging: Before you use the battery, make sure it’s fully charged. Do not overcharge the battery because it will shorten its life.
  • Place to Keep: Keep the battery somewhere cool and dry. When the battery is not being used, do not leave it in the charger for long amounts of time.
  • Replacement: If the battery doesn’t hold a charge well anymore, you should get a new one. Check the user instructions to find out what kind of battery to use and how to change it.

How to Use Glue Sticks

  • Glue Sticks That Work Together: Only use Surebonder glue sticks or other types that are suggested. Glue sticks that don’t work with each other can get clogged and cause other problems.
  • Place: Keep glue sticks in a cool, dry place. Do not put them in very hot or very cold places, as this can change their ability to stick together.

Keep Handling Safe

  • When Not In Use: Always put the glue gun on the stand when it’s not in use. This keeps the glue from dripping onto surfaces, where it could cause burns.
  • After Use: Each time you use the glue gun, turn it off and stop it. Let it cool all the way down before putting it away.

Keeping things

  • How to Store It: Keep the glue gun somewhere cool and dry. Keep kids and pets away from it. Before putting the glue gun away, make sure it is cool and clean.
  • Protective Case: If you have one, use a protective case or cover to keep dust and other things from getting into the tip and other parts.
