Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure Model Cleanliness: Make sure your model is clean and dry before starting the application process.
  2. Prepare Water: Fill a small bowl with lukewarm water.
  3. Soak Transfer: Place the transfer face up on the water’s surface and let it float for several minutes.
  4. Separate Backing Paper: The backing paper should come free from the transfer, leaving the design on a thin clear film. Use tweezers if needed to help release the backing paper.
  5. Transfer Placement: Use tweezers to pick up the transfer from the water and place it on the model. If the transfer curls, placing it back in water can help it uncurl.
  6. Adjustment and Drying: Arrange the transfer on the model within a few moments. Dab around the transfer gently with a tissue to remove excess water. Allow all transfers to dry.
  7. Varnish Application: Once all transfers are applied and dried, consider spraying the model with varnish to protect the transfers.

FAQ

  • Q : How can I prevent the transfer from curling?
  • A: Unfortunately, there is no foolproof method to prevent curling, but try getting hold of the transfer across its whole width for better results.

Applying waterslide transfers

  1. Ensure your model is clean and dry before starting.
  2. Fill a small bowl with lukewarm water.
  3. Use a small scissors or a craft knife to cut out the transfer. Try to trim as close to the transfer as possible – the transfers are on a clear film but some will need to fit in tight spots.
  4. Place the transfer face up on the surface of the water so that it floats, and leave for several minutes.
  5. Eventually, the backing paper should come free from the transfer and leave the design on a thin clear film. You may need to manipulate the transfer slightly with tweezers to help release the backing paper.
  6. Use tweezers to pick up the transfer from the water and place it on the model. The transfer can curl*, but placing the transfer back in the water can help it uncurl.
  7. You’ll have a few moments to arrange the transfer on the model. Once you’re happy, dab around the transfer very gently with a piece of tissue to remove excess water.
  8. Once all the transfers have been applied, and have dried you may wish to spray the model with a varnish to help protect the transfers.

We don’t have a great way to prevent this, but have found getting hold of the transfer across its whole width can help sometimes.
