Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Pre-Clean Purifying Shampoo
Shampoo hair according to hair type:
- 5 times for virgin, gray, or resistant hair
- 4 times for color-treated hair
- 3 times for highlighted hair
Leave the shampoo on the hair for 30 seconds between each wash. For resistant hair, leave the shampoo on and apply heat for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
Step 2: Blow Dry
Blow dry hair completely without using brushes for smoothing. Keep the cuticle open.
Step 3: Application
Section the hair and wear gloves. Apply the product from the scalp to the ends using a tint brush. For Xpress, spray sparingly. Distribute evenly with a comb.
Step 4: Treatment Application
Let the product sit for 15-20 minutes, covering with a plastic cap. After the allotted time, blow-dry hair completely using a large rake comb.
Step 6: Post-Treatment Care
Advise the client not to wet their hair for 24-72 hours for desired results. Xpress can be shampooed after 24 hours, while Original Formula requires 72 hours.
Step 7: Maintenance

USING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Shampoo hair using Simply Smooth Pre-Clean Purifying Shampoo.
Shampoo 5 times for virgin, gray, or resistant hair. Shampoo 4 times for
color-treated hair. Shampoo 3 times for highlighted hair. Leave product on
hair for 30 seconds between shampooing. If hair is resistant, leave Pre-Clean
Purifying Shampoo on hair and place under heat for 5 minutes. Rinse 100%. The
focus is to open the cuticle.
NOTE: For erratic texture, use Pre-Soft Keratin Primer from the Designer
Line before Pre-Cleaning for 5-20 minutes to even out the canvas and open the
cuticle on strong hair. For more information refer to the back of the bottle.
Step 2 : Blow dry hair 100%, keeping the cuticle open. No brushes, no
smoothing.
Step 3: Section the hair into desired sections. Be sure to wear gloves.
Shake the bottle well and begin to apply, using a tint brush, from scalp to
ends. If using Xpress, spray sparingly into the hair. Using a comb, distribute
the product evenly throughout the hair. Less is more.
Step 4 : Let sit for 15 minutes on normal hair and up to 20 minutes on
resistant hair, covering with a plastic cap. After the appropriate time has
elapsed, using a large rake comb, blow-dry hair 100% to begin closing the
cuticle. Do not brush the hair.
Step 5: Re-section the hair. Beginning at the nape of the neck, using 1/8
inch sections, begin flat ironing the hair from the base to the ends. Be sure
your iron is set between 375 to 450 degrees. For normal hair, set the
temperature to 450 degrees, and for finer hair, set the temperature to 400
degrees. For overprocessed hair, set as low as 375 degrees. Be sure to cure
Simply Smooth Keratin Treatment into the hair by repeating the smoothing
process with the 375-degree flat iron, more than one time per strand. For
virgin hair, apply the flat iron 5 times per section. For highlighted hair,
apply the flat iron 3-5 times per section. Work your way through each section
of the hair. The Cure irons are recommended, as they are designed to cure
Simply Smooth deep within the cuticle.
However, using different plates will produce different cures. Ceramic-light
cure. Tourmaline-medium cure. Titanium-strong cure. Use according to hair
texture.
