Installation
Unpacking
Before starting the installation, carefully examine the rotator.
- Open the box and carefully remove the padding. Check to see that the rotator has not been damaged during transportation. Keep the packing material until you are sure the rotator works properly.
- Make sure that rotisserie for 36 x 1.5/2.0 mL tubes is included.
- Carefully lift the unit from the box.
- Be sure that the following information is included on the label located on the bottom of the unit: Serial number, product number, and electrical rating.
- heck that the power cord has the correct configuration that matches the outlet according to your local standards.
NOTE: If any damage occurred during transportation, contact your carrier immediately.
Installation
Place the rotator on a stable, flat surface. Connect the plug into the grounded wall socket. Avoid sockets where powerful electric motors, refrigerators, and similar devices are also connected.
Use the On/Off switch to control the rotator.
- Be careful when you plug the cord into the grounded wall socket.
- Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
- Do not pull the plug by the cord.
Loading the Rotisserie
The 36 x 1.5/2.0 mL tube rotisserie supplied with unit consists of two
rotisserie plates attached to an axle that mounts into the motor drive of the
apparatus. The rotisserie plates from the other assemblies are interchangeable
on the axles, so you can mix and match the plates and process different tube
sizes at one time. Individual rotisserie plates can be adjusted independently
for two distinct types of motion for each plate at the same time.
When removing and installing the rotisserie plates from the axle, always
remove the axle from the units first. Otherwise, damage may occur to the axle
or the unit. Mount the rotisserie assembly into the unit by inserting one end
of the axle into the drive mechanism and the other end into the bushing under
the small green handle. The metal frame of the unit is flexible to allow
inserting the rotisserie without tools. Be sure to distribute the tubes evenly
across the entire rotisserie carrier for smooth rotating motion
Tumbling
To create a tumbling motion for your samples, turn the rotisserie plates so the samples are in a vertical mixing position
Gentle Mixing
To create a gentle mixing motion for your samples, turn the rotisserie plates so the samples are in a horizontal mixing position
Combination Mixing
To create a combination of mixing styles, turn each rotisserie plate to the desired angle to achieve two different agitation levels.
Cleaning and Maintenance
No routine maintenance or lubrication is required. Keeping the rotator clean will the help to maintain it in proper operating condition.
Cleaning
The outside housing can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth when needed.
NOTE: Before cleaning the rotator, always unplug the power cord. Do not use
any aggressive or abrasive cleaners (acetone, nitro, polish, etc.). This may
permanently damage the rotator finish
