Product Usage Instructions

Set up Square Stand

1. Connect Square Stand to the Hub:
   • Attach the optional USB hub to the base of the Square Stand using the provided USB-C cable.
2. Connect the hub to the power adapter:
   • Plug the USB-C cable from the power adapter into the USB hub.
   • If not using the hub, plug the adapter directly into the Square Stand.
3. Plug into an outlet:
   • Connect the power adapter cable to the power adapter, then plug it into a power outlet.
4. Insert your iPad into Square Stand:
   • Slide the iPad into the Square Stand and connect it to the USB-C connector. Ensure it’s secure by listening for the security latch click.

Removing Your iPad from Square Stand
To remove your iPad from the Square Stand, pull out and push down on the raised security latch next to the iPad’s camera. Then carefully slide the iPad out to the left.

Take Payments

1. Ring up a sale:
   • Add items to the cart in the Square app, then tap Charge. Wait for the lights to illuminate around the contactless icon and chip card slot.
2. Swivel Square Stand to face the customer:
   • Rotate the Square Stand at its base so the screen faces the customer.
3. Accept payment:
   • The customer can pay by tapping their contactless card or device near the contactless icon or inserting their chip card into the slot.

Add an Adhesive Mount (Optional)

1. Plug the USB hub into the Square Stand.
2. Screw in the adhesive mounting plate after firmly inserting the cable into Square Stand.
3. Remove the adhesive backing after ensuring a secure fit and remove the base lock.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX

Let’s get you up and running. Everything you need to start selling is in the box — just make sure you have your compatible iPad ready.

SET UP SQUARE STAND

Use this diagram to get set up.

• A. Connect Square Stand to the hub
  Connect the optional USB hub to the base of the Square Stand using the attached USB-C cable. See the peripherals page for more details.

• B. Connect the hub to the power adapter
  Plug the USB-C cable from the power adapter into the USB hub. If you’re not using the USB hub, plug the power adapter directly into the Square Stand.

• C. Plug into an outlet
  Plug the power adapter cable into the power adapter, then plug the power adapter cable into a power outlet.

• D. Insert your iPad into the Square Stand
  Slide your iPad into Square Stand and connect your iPad to the USB-C connector. You’ll know it’s secure when the security latch clicks.

REMOVING YOUR IPAD FROM SQUARE STAND
You can take your iPad out of Square Stand by pulling out and then pushing down on the raised security latch located next to the iPad’s camera. Once unlatched, carefully slide the iPad out to the left.

TAKE PAYMENTS

Accept payments quickly and easily by following the process below.

1. Ring up a sale
   Add items to the cart in the Square app, then tap Charge. Wait for the lights to go on around the contactless icon and at the edge of the chip card slot.

2. Swivel Square Stand to face the customer
   Swivel Square Stand at its base so the screen is now facing your customer.

3. Accept payment
   The customer can now pay by either:

   • A. Tapping their contactless card or device near the flashing contactless icon.
   • B. Inserting their chip card into the card slot.

ADD AN ADHESIVE MOUNT

ADD AN ADHESIVE MOUNT (OPTIONAL)
Secure the Square Stand to your counter with the included adhesive mounting plate.

1. Plug the USB hub into the Square Stand
   Plug the cable into the bottom of the Square Stand. Note: If the cable exits the base of Square Stand on the right side (when the screen faces you), Square Stand will swivel clockwise. If the cable exits the base on the left side, the Square Stand will swivel counterclockwise.

2. Screw in the adhesive mounting plate
   Make sure the cable is firmly pushed in, then screw in the adhesive mounting plate.

3. Remove the adhesive backing
   Check that the plate is tightly screwed in and the base of the Square Stand is locked, then remove the adhesive backing.

4. Mount Square Stand on your counter
   Clean and dry the area where you want to mount the Square Stand, then firmly adhere into place. Press down for 30 seconds and wait 30 minutes for the adhesive to set.

NOTE:
To remove the adhesive mount, pull the tabs on the mount slowly outwards. The adhesive will start to stretch until it detaches from the surface it was mounted on.

ADD A DRILL MOUNT

Secure a Square Stand to your counter with a drill and the included drill mount.

1. Plug the hub into the Square Stand
   Plug the cable into the bottom of the Square Stand. Note: If the cable exits the base of Square Stand on the right side (when the screen faces you), Square Stand will swivel clockwise. If the cable exits the base on the left side, the Square Stand will swivel counterclockwise.

2. Drill the hole for the drill mount
   With a 3/16″ drill bit, drill a hole into your counter. Make sure your bit will work on your counter material.

3. Line up the Square Stand with the drill hole
   Line up the screw hole in the base of the Square Stand with the hole in your counter. Check that the base of the Square Stand is locked with the cable exiting from your preferred side.

4. Mount Square Stand on your counter
   Screw the drill mount into the base of the Square Stand through the bottom of your counter. Turn the nut until it’s firmly against the bottom of your counter. Make sure the drill mount and Square Stand are secure and Square Stand can only swivel on a 180º axis.

POWER UP AND CONNECT ACCESSORIES

Connect a barcode scanner, receipt printer, cash drawer, or other USB-A accessories to the Square Stand via the hub. For a complete list of compatible accessories, including Ethernet and Bluetooth-enabled printers and scanners visit square.com/stand-accessories. When Square Stand is not plugged into a power outlet, it runs on your iPad’s battery and you can still accept every payment. In this mode, you won’t be able to use accessories connected via the USB hub.
