PREP WORK SPACE
Protect your table with an old towel or tarp – unless you want to add a little
character to your dining room table. BUILD
Use a wooden dowel to attach the half-disc to the sphere.
Attach the half-dome (neck piece) to the ring. Wrap craft paper around the
ring and neck to your desired thickness and secure it with the masking tape.
Attach the sphere to the ring with the beak facing outward. CUT, WET, &
APPLY
Cut the plaster roll into strips. It’s okay if the strips are different shapes
and sizes! Fill the recyclable plaster cup with warm water. Dip your plaster
strips one at a time, and gently place the wet plaster onto the duck. Use
your finger to flatten the plaster to form and smooth out any bubbles. Cover
the entire surface of the duck with plaster. DRY
Set your duck aside to dry. Take a break. If it’s sunny outside, set it in the
sun to speed up the process.
