MONACOR SLOVAKIA RC Control Audio Wall Controller

RC-CONTROL – audio wall controller

Basic functions

  • wall controller for the LinkPlay audio multiroom system
  • turning on and o the zone (when turned on, it starts the last played music)
  • direct recall of controlled device presets (1 to 4)
  • calling AUX input (configurable)
  • zone volume control including mute
  • 3-step setting options for volume (short and long press)
  • control via TCP/IP protocol (WIFI)
  • feedback on buttons – PLAY/STOP and MUTE
  • simple web interface for the controller setup

Description of buttons

Button Short press Long press (2 sec)
PLAY/SLEEP starting the last played music call local input
PAUSE/MUTE stop playback (zone o ) muting the sound in the zone
FAV1/FAV3 recall preset 1 recall preset 3
FAV2/FAV4 recall preset 2 recall preset 4
VOL + turn up the volume in the zone turn up the volume in the zone
VOL – turn down the volume in the zone turn down the volume in the zone

Controller Setup

Connecting to an existing WIFI network

  1. After connecting the power supply, the PLAY and STOP lights on the controller flash at the same time (the controller is in AP mode)
  2. Connect your phone or computer to the “reco-sp-XXXX” WIFI network (XXXX is the last 4 numbers from the MAC address)
  3. After connecting to the WIFI, it will automatically open the login window for wifi logins (Picture 1).If the window does not open automatically, enter the address 192.168.4.1 in the browser
  4. Note the name of the wifi SSID (reco-sp-XXXX) or hostname after login to the controller. It will be used in the next step.
  5. Type your ssid and password of your private wifi network (you can write directly or find available networks by SCAN button.
  6. After filling, press the SAVE & REBOOT button.

The controller will restart and will try to connect to your private WIFI network.
If the controller connects to your network successfully, the PLAY button LED will flash green every 3 seconds.

Setup the controller with the existing LinkPlay device

  1. Type “reco-sp-XXXX.local” in your internet browser (reco-sp-XXXX is the hostname of the controller in the first setup).
  2. You will get the main page (picture 2)
  3. Go to the STREAM PLAYER page

Notes
You can use this web interface also for controlling selected LinkPlay players with basic functions.
The button “Identify” is useful when you have several controllers on the network to find the proper controller.

RC-CONTROL – audio wall controller

  • Press the “Discovery” button to find all LinkPlay players on the network.
  • After finding all players click on the player you want to control.
  • After this step, you will see which player is connected to the controller.
  • Select desired VOLUME STEPS and start volume if needed. Then press the “SAVE” button again to store all settings.
  • Select the desired local input for the assign to the AUX button.
  • Then press the “SAVE” button again to store all settings.
  • Now the controller operates with the selected LinkPlay player.

Other settings

  1. Go to the SETUP page

  2. You can set ADMIN login and password to prevent incorrect settings.
    Default password is empty.

  3. You can set LED brightness in the three steps LOW / MID / HIGH

Notes
On this page you can find the IP address and MAC address of the controller. You can change hostname to your preferred name (for example reco-kitchen).

Uploading new firmware

  • Go to the FIRMWARE page
  • You can upload new firmware for the controller.
  • You can make a factory reset here to revert all controller settings.

Notes
You can perform FACTORY RESET by holding the FAV1 a VOL+ buttons together for 8 seconds, then release.

Controller setup modes and errors

  • AP mode – in this mode, it is possible to connect to the controller WIFI and log in to the existing WIFI network
  • Every 3 seconds, PLAY and STOP flash at the same time
  • Call AP mode: hold STOP and VOL- for 5 seconds
  • AP mode – client connected
  • Web server IP address “192.168.4.1*
  • The controller is not connected to the existing WIFI network
  • The STOP button flashes every 3 seconds
  • The controller is connected to an existing WIFI network but is not paired to any LinkPlay player
  • The green PLAY LED flashes every 3 seconds
  • The controller is connected to the WIFI network, but could not find a paired LinkPlay player
  • FAV1 flashes every 3 seconds

Controller normal operation modes

  • The LinkPlay player does not play any music STOP button lights up
  • The LinkPlay player plays music from local input (optical in, line-in, etc)
  • PLAY button lights up cyan
  • The BluOS player plays music from the network (internet radio, mp3…)
  • PLAY button lights up blue
  • The BluOS player plays music from airplay or Spotify Connect
  • PLAY button lights up green
  • The BluOS player plays music, but the audio output is muted.
  • VOL- and VOL+ buttons light together
