- 10mm socket

Installation Procedure:

1. Remove the fabric cargo cover on the underside of the hatch. - Remove the plastic panel covers to access the tail lights on the interior hatch panel.

PARTS LIST
REQUIRED TOOLS
Required:
- Hex Drive 4mm for M6 Button Head Bolts
- T30 bit for OEM Wing Hardware
- 10mm Box Wrench
- 10mm Socket, extension, ratchet
- + drive screwdriver
- Recommended:
- Torque Wrench in/ lbs.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
We recommend installation be performed by a professional. An assistant is recommended. Installation may vary if not being installed on an OEM trunk lid.

Remove the fabric cargo cover on the underside of the hatch
-
Remove the plastic panels covers to access the tail lights on the interior hatch panel
-
Flip open the covers on cargo cover mounts to access the tapping screw, and remove the screw for both sides

Remove the cargo cover plastic mounts, both sides
-
Remove the tapping screw located near the recessed area on the plastic hatch panel
-
Remove the plastic hatch interior cover. There are many plastic clips on the backside holding the panel in place as shown in the image below

Using a 10mm socket CAREFULLY remove the six range head bolts securing the wing mounts to the hatch
- PRO TIP : Use a magnetic socket or be very careful not to drop the bolts into the hatch

With the OE wing assembly removed, thoroughly clean the painted surface of the hatch

Attach the provided foam seals to the rmk Design billet aluminum mounts
-
Attach the rmk Design mounts to the hatch using the original hardware. There are special right and left mounts
PRO TIP : We found it best to insert one of the OEM bolts through the hatch, and hold it in place with the socket. Now, bring the mount to top side of the hatch and thread in hand tight. -
Insert the remaining two bolts per mount, and just hand tighten so there is still some movement. Do NOT fully tighten at this point

Repeat on the opposite side

Attach the rmk Design aluminum high mount wing brackets to the rmk Design base mounts with provided M6 hardware and nylon washers Snug all hardware.

Attach the OEM wing element to the rmk DESIGN high-type wing brackets using the original hardware.

Fully tighten and torque wing brackets to base mounts. Recommended ~85 in-lbs.

Fully tighten and torque OE wing element to wing brackets. Recommended ~85 in-lbs.

Now tighten the six OE bolts on the underside of the hatch to fully secure the mounts. Torque to ~85 in-lbs. or OEM spec
-
Re-install all the interior hatch panels, cargo cover mounts, screws, and taillight covers
-
Use soap and water or a quick detailer-type product to clean the entire wing assembly

- Product finishes are not covered under warranty and are considered wear & tear. These are painted or powder-coated part(s). The nish may be scratched, chipped, or damaged when tightened hardware, or components are attached to each other.
- No warranty whatsoever will be valid if the defect was caused by abuse, negligence and/or mishandling. That includes weather conditions, natural disasters, any road/-road conditions, and any accidents/collisions you were part of.
- Modification, mis-installation, tampering, and installation on a vehicle not intended voids all warranty.
- Some chemical cleaning products may damage the product and/or finishes.
- Wear and tear (the damage that happens to our product in ordinary use) is not covered by our limited warranty.
- Improper installation or misuse of the product may lead to failure and damage to both the product and vehicle. The user assumes all responsibility.
