Introduction

Simply magical powder coating with the Sprint 2 manual unit

Get perfect results quickly and easily: WAGNER is launching the new generation of its manual powder coating unit. The update combines proven elements from the previous product family with new, innovative components and assistance functions that offer even more options for manual applications.

In addition to the trolley itself, the control unit has also been modernized in terms of design and functionality. The WACON Sprint 2 XE (successor to the EPG SPRINT XE control unit) has the new DSO (Digital Surface Optimizer) assistance function, which reduces overcharge effects such as orange peel, edge build-up and similar. This advantage is particularly relevant for decorative coatings on complex workpiece geometries or with challenging powder coatings. The DSO function supports the coater for an even more homogeneous surface finish. The intuitive controls and even clearer arrangement of the operating elements make day-to-day work easier: the coater has all important parameters at a glance and can make all adjustments, including recipe selection, quickly and easily using a central rotary knob. WAGNER’s Air Flow Control (AFC) technology constantly measures and regulates the air volume during the coating process, creating a uniform powder cloud for high-quality coating results.

Time savings during cleaning & color change

New functions save the coater a lot of time: With the coupling of the new Quick-Link injector, all powder and air hoses can be detached with one hand. The integrated scraper ring in the swivel arm wipes the powder off the outside of the lance without the need for an additional work step, which also speeds up the cleaning and color change process. As the injector and suction lance are firmly screwed together, fewer interfaces need to be cleaned manually.

Proven gun with legendary performance

The PEM-X1 manual gun impresses with its unbeatably high application efficiency. There are three characteristic curves to choose from, enabling optimum electrostatic powder charging even with different powder properties. As a lightweight powder gun, it is also very robust and therefore ideal for time-intensive coating work. The coater can quickly adjust the powder quantity using integrated buttons and change the recipe with a double-click on the trigger.

The right solution for every application

The Sprint 2 manual unit is available in two versions – for powder feeding directly from the original box or alternatively from a 60-liter hopper. Conversions between the two versions are possible.

The practical cup gun case set (Sprint 2 CG manual unit) is suitable for individual parts and very small quantities as well as for laboratory and development purposes. Super-fast color changes are possible with the cup change concept. The set is easy to set up anywhere and can be operated directly from the case.

Another combination is the 3-liter table set (Sprint 2 T manual unit): In addition to the control unit and manual gun, it includes a compact vibrating table with a 3-liter hopper attachment, a Hi-Coat injector and 9 mm hose. In laboratory environments or for small parts with very high surface quality requirements, extremely fine coatings are achieved with this setup. It also finds practical application in crack testing or wheel finishing.

The manual unit can also be adapted to individual requirements with a wide range of accessories. These include various nozzles, nozzle extensions, the 1-liter cup extension, the CoronaStar for smoother surfaces and the Hi-Coat injector for extremely high demands on the surface finish. In addition, the manual unit can be expanded into a double system using a separate swivel arm with injector, gun and control unit.
The Sprint 2 manual unit can be pre-ordered now and will be available from mid-May 2024.
