Product Usage Instructions

BLE Pairing Mechanism

  1. When the remote is unpaired, press any RF key (excluding certain keys).
  2. RCU sends pairing IR commands to trigger pairing at the STB.
  3. RCU sends advertisements for pairing.
  4. If pairing is successful, the RCU LED will stop blinking.
  5. If pairing fails, the RCU LED will blink according to the Pairing Fail scenario.
  6. The pairing mode timeout is 60 seconds.
  7. If the RCU is already paired, the user can manually re-pair by pressing combo key simultaneously for 5 seconds.

Voice Feature

The RCU supports one-way voice transfer from RCU to host. Pressing the voice key sends a code to the STB to activate the voice search engine on the host.

OTA Upgrade

The RCU software supports upgrades via OTA (Over-The-Air) updates.

Products Functions

The RC477 remote connects via Radio Frequency for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to LGI set-top box, which has Nuance voice enabled. This connection is needed to control all essential features that LGI offers, including browsing content, playing videos, and conducting voice searches. BLE are also used for over-the- air firmware upgrades as well as the download of TV control codes. The remote further includes infrared (IR), used for the one-time initiation of the BLE connection, as well as volume and power control of third-party non-Bluetooth TVs.
