- People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields near the heart pacemaker could cause pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure.
- The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors
which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
Silicosis Safety Measures
Masonry grinding on materials such as concrete (which contains crystalline
silica) can cause silicosis (a serious lung disease), cancer, and death. To
reduce crystalline silica exposures in the workplace and prevent silicosis and
silicosis-related deaths:
- Conduct air monitoring to measure worker exposures.
- Use containment methods to control the hazard and protect adjacent workers from exposure.
- Practice good personal hygiene to avoid unnecessary exposure to silica dust.
- Wear washable or disposable protective clothes at the work site. Shower and change into clean clothes before leaving the work site to prevent contamination of cars, homes, and other work areas. Avoid skin exposure.
- Always wear a NIOSH-approved respirator and safety goggles. Ventilate the work area properly.
- Provide periodic medical examinations for all workers who may be exposed to crystalline silica.
- Post signs to warn workers about the hazard and to inform them about required protective equipment.
- Provide workers with training that includes information about health effects, work practices, and protective equipment for crystalline silica.
- Report all cases of silicosis to State health departments and to OSHA or the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

Attaching Dust Shroud to Right Angle Grinder
-
Remove the grinder’s guard and any accessories.
-
Turn the grinder upside down and place it on a level surface.
-
Install the appropriate size Nylon Adapter around the outside of the grinder Spindle. Install Metal Adapter around Nylon Adapter (Except for Dewalt and Milwaukee). The tab (if present) should fit within the notch of the Adapters.
Note: DeWalt and Milwaukee-specific adapters are designed to only fit in the correct orientation. -

-
Turn the Shroud upside down and place it over the grinder with the Swivel Cover facing to the front, lining up the Detent Tab with the Notch or Groove on the outside of the Adapter.
-
Turn the grinder upright and make sure the Shroud is fully seated. Close the Clamp Lever, then retighten the Clamp Nut to prevent Shroud movement.
-
Attach the accessory to the grinder according to the instructions in the grinder’s manual. The grinding surface should be approximately 1/16″ below the brush ends.
-
If an accessory is more than 1/16″ below the brush ends, remove the accessory and add Spacer(s).
