SAFETY INFORMATION

GENERALSAFETY
READ THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE

ND KEEP IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

1. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose. Improper use may result in an electric shock, fire or serious injury and may void the warranty.

2. Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds with the voltage in your home. If this is not the case, do not use the appliance and contact the [email protected] immediately.

3. The power cord has a short design to prevent accidents. Do not use an extension cord.

4. This appliance is for household use only. It is not suitable for commercial, industrial, or outdoor use.

5. This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications such as:

   • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
   • farm houses
   • by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;
   • bed and breakfast type environments.

6. Ensure the vapor nozzle, water tank cover and water tank are firmly attached to the base before each use. Do not open the vapor nozzle or water tank when the appliance is switched on.

7. Do not move the appliance when it is switched on and/or full of water.

8. Only use the humidifier with the power base supplied.

9. The use of accessories or fittings other than the original parts supplied with this appliance may result in an injury, fire or damages and will void the warranty.

10. Hold the device with two hands when you fill it with water to prevent dropping it.

11. Use distilled water (demineralized water) that is room temperature and less than 40°C/104°F.

12. Do not add water into the base directly.

13. Only use aromatherapy or essential oil products with this humidifier.

14. After each use of aromatherapy or essential oils, clean the base (see CLEANING AND CARE section).

15. Do not add the oil directly into the water tank or base of the humidifier as it may damage the plastic seals and cause leaks.

16. If the appliance gives off an abnormal odor or makes abnormal sounds, immediately turn it off and unplug it from the power supply

17. Do not use the appliance when the water tank is empty

18. Do not use the appliance in extreme cold temperatures when the liquid inside may freeze, as this can cause damage to the appliance If frozen, wait until the ice has fully melted before use.

19. Follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions detailed in the CLEANING AND CARE section of this instruction manual.

20. Do not immerse the appliance or electrical parts of the appliance in water or any other liquids. Never place them under running water (see CLEANING AND CARE).

21. To prevent spillages, do not fill the humidifier above its capacity of 6 liters.

22. This appliance can be used by children aged from eight years and above and
    by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, if they are properly supervised or instructed how to use the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

23. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF BABIES AND CHILDREN – Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children younger than eight years of age

24. Children should not play with the appliance Cleaning, maintenance or connecting the appliance to the power supply should not be done by children under the age of eight.

25. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is switched on.

26. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not expose the appliance or electrical parts of the appliance to dripping or splashing water.

27. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not touch or operate the appliance with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor.

28. Do not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.

29. When the humidifier is not in use, turn the knob to the OFF position, then UNPLUG it.

30. To unplug, pull the plug out. Do not pull on the cord.

31. If the power cord or plug is damaged, do not use the appliance The power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service agent or a similarly qualified person.

32. Do not under any circumstances attempt to repair the appliance For servicing and repairs, contact the [email protected].

33. RISK OF SUFFOCATION! KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN – Keep all packaging materials out of the reach of babies and children.

34. CAUTION! To avoid an electric shock, fire, or injury:

• Make sure the appliance cannot be knocked over or upset and no water spillage.
• Keep the humidifier and the power cord away from the edge of tables or counter.
• Always unplug the appliance before refilling with water, overfilling, cleaning, storing, and unplug it immediately after use.
• Do not let water splash into the electric components inside the base.

 INSTALLATION LOCATION

• Do not place this product close to a heat source such as a stove to prevent it from being damaged or causing a fire or injury.
• Place the appliance at least 1.7 feet away from the floor or furniture. Make sure there is at least 4.2 feet of space above the appliance. Make sure the appliance is at least 6.6 feet away from other household electrical appliances such as a TV.
• Always place the appliance on a stable, flat, dry, and heat-resistant surface
• Never allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a worktop or table or touch any hot surface.
• Do not allow the power cord to touch any sharp edges or corners.

POLARIZED PLUG

• The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.
• If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THIS PLUG OR ATTEMPT TO DEFEAT ITS SAFETY FEATURE IN ANY WAY.

BEFORE FIRST USE

• Remove all packaging from the appliance.
• Unpack all parts and check for damage that may have occurred during transport. If any parts are damaged or missing, do not use the appliance and contact support@okay­sou.com immediately.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR HUMIDIFIER

• The humidifier takes 6 liters of water, which provides 23 to 50 hours of humidifying action (depending on the vapor level you choose).
• Rotate the knob clockwise to adjust the mist output.
• An aromatherapy oil or essential oil can be used to gently perfume the room.

GETTING STARTED

Find a location for the humidifier where

• The bottom and sides of the appliance are at least 1.7 feet away from the floor, walls, bedding, curtains, furniture, and other objects.
• The top of the humidifier is at least 4.2 feet away from any objects.
• The humidifier is 6.6 feet away from electrical appliances such as a TV.

1. Lift off the water tank cover. Separate the base from the water tank. Remove the water tank cover. [Figure 1 ]

2. Fill the water tank with clean water (no warmer than room tempera­ true). The tank takes approximately 6 liters of water .[Figure 2]
   NOTE : We recommend you use distilled water to prevent the build-up of scale that will occur if tap water is used.

3. Put the water tank cover back on. Wipe off any excess water from the tank. [Figure 3 ]

4. Place the water tank back on the base.
   NOTE : If the humidifier has been stored in a particularly cool place i.e. below 5°C, wait 30 minutes for the appliance to warm up before turning it on. [Figure 4]

5. Plug the power cord into the socket, rotate the knob clockwise to adjust the mist output from low to high.
   NOTE : To prevent condensation, place the humidifier away from windows and do not use in a closed room for a long time. [Figure 5]

GENERAL OPERATION

• With the knob in the OFF position, plug unit into a wall socket. Rotate the knob clockwise. And the indicator light will turn green.

• Rotate knob clockwise to increase the intensity of the mist.

• Press the LED button to turn on the LED night light located inside the water tank.
  The inner water level will be seen clearly. Press LED button again to turn off LED light.

• The unit features an “Auto Shut Off” safety feature. When the unit is low on water, it will cut off the atomizer to stop the mist and the indicator light will turn red. To refill water tank, turn knob to OFF position, unplug from wall socket and repeat Steps 1-4.

•   IMPORTANT TIP :DO NOT leave the humidifier plugged in for prolonged periods (i.e. several days or more) without use. This causes premature failure of the circuitry. When the humidifier is not in use, turn the knob to the OFF position and UNPLUG it.

USING THE AROMA OIL DIFFUSER

1. Pull out the aroma oil tray and if not already inserted, put in the sponge

2. Add the aromatherapy or essential oil until the sponge is soaked. If some oil spills outside the aroma oil tray, wipe it up before proceeding.

3. NOTE : We recommend using aromatherapy or essential oils with antibacterial and antifungal properties.

4. Slide the tray back into place and turn on the humidifier.
   NOTE : Do not add the aromatherapy or essential oil directly in the water tank or base of the humidifier.

CLEANING AND CARE

• Always unplug the humidifier from the main socket and let it cool down before cleaning.
• Do not immerse the base or power cord in water/liquids or allow moisture to come into contact with these parts.
• Never use solvents, bacteriostat, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp objects or scouring pads to clean the product.

CLEANING

• Clean the appliance every 2 to 3 days to remove any film or scale build-up.
• Regular cleaning increases the lifespan of the humidifier.
• Always clean the appliance before storing it for a long time.
• Store the appliance in its original packaging or in a cool, dust-free, dry environment away from direct sunlight.

CLEANING THE BASE

1. Remove the water tank from the base. [Figure 1]

2. Pour off any water away from the air intake to ensure that it does not flow into the inside of the base and damage the internal components [Figure 2]

3. Remove the dust filter cover and take out the dust filter. Use a mild detergent solution to clean it [Figure 3 ]

4. Use a dry cloth to clean the inside of the base. Make sure you remove any scale, particularly around the float valve and the oscillator. [Figure 4]
   

5. A damp cloth can be used to clean the outside of the base. [Figure 5]

6. Take out the aroma oil tray and sponge from the base and wash in a mild deter­ gent solution. [Figure 6 ]

7. Reassemble only when all parts are thoroughly dry. [Figure 7]

CLEANING THE WATER TANK

1. Separate the water tank from the base. [Figure 1]

2. Remove the vapor nozzle/water tank cover from the water tank. [Figure 2]
   

3. Use a solution of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water to clean the vapor nozzle, water tank and cover. Alternatively, a warm, mild detergent solution can be used to clean these parts. After cleaning, pour the water outside. [Figure 3]

4. Pour clean water into the water tank to thoroughly clean. [Figure 4 ]

5. Using a clean cloth to wipe any deposits and excess water from the parts and dry thoroughly. [Figure 5]

Clean the water tank and vapor nozzle with a vinegar solution once a week.
