Product Usage Instructions

Lighting the Barbecue

  1. Place an even layer of charcoal about 3-4 cm / 1.2-1.6” deep on the charcoal tray.
  2. Carefully apply lighting gel to the charcoal.
  3. Light the charcoal with a long taper or match.

During Cooking

When the flames die down, ensure that the charcoal begins to glow red. It is recommended to keep the charcoal red hot for at least 30-40 minutes before cooking on the barbecue. Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.

End of Cooking Session

Use a damp cloth with warm water and washing-up liquid to clean the barbecue. Avoid using abrasive materials or sharp objects as they can damage the barbecue.

USER INSTRUCTIONS

  • Before proceeding, make certain that you understand the WARNING statements in this manual.
  • Never use any abrasive cooking tools on the cooking grill (1) surface to avoid the surface getting damaged.
  • Preparation before cooking – To prevent foods from sticking to the cooking grill, use a long-handled brush to apply a light coat of cooking or vegetable oil before each barbecuing session.
  • Note: When cooking with your barbecue for the first time, the paint on the outside of the barbecue may change colour slightly as a result of high temperatures. This is normal and should be expected.

Care Maintenance and Storage

  • Do not leave your barbecue uncovered when not in use. Store your barbecue in a shed or garage when not in use to protect against the effects of extreme weather conditions, particularly if you live near coastal areas.

  • Prolonged exposure to sunlight, standing water, and sea air/saltwater can all cause damage to your barbecue. (A cover may not be sufficient to protect your barbecue in some of these situations).

  • In order to extend the life and maintain the condition of your barbecue, we strongly recommend that the unit is covered when left outside for any length of time, especially during the winter months.

  • Before storing the barbeque, ensure that all remaining ash or charcoal is removed.

  • Do not overfill the charcoal tray with charcoal or allow the charcoal to touch the barbecue body.
    This barbecue has to be installed on a secure level base before use.

  • Before using the chopping board for the first time
  • To make it easier to protect your chopping board against grease and to increase its natural resistance to moisture, it should be treated with oil approved for contact with food, for instance, vegetable oil.
  • Oil once, wipe off any surplus oil and then repeat the treatment 24 hours later.

Looking after your chopping board

  • The wooden and metal parts can be separated for easier cleaning. The metal tray should be washed by hand.
  • Clean your chopping board by wiping it with a clean cloth or scrubbing it with a brush. Do not soak the chopping board or leave it in water for a prolonged period. This can cause the wood to split.
  • Dry the chopping board carefully but do not use high temperatures to speed up the drying process.
  • To recondition the chopping board, it may be rubbed with medium fine sandpaper and re-oiled.
