Installation Instructions

  • Check the mounting of the water heater. The model HT-BVU-D has to be installed horizontally against the wall with the incoming water pipe pointed upwards for de-aeration. The outgoing pipe is placed in line with the heater (see directional arrow).
  • When positioning the heater sufficient space must be taken into consideration for installing replacement heating element units.
  • It is preferred to install the water heater on the pressure side of the circulation pump.
  • Check that the working pressure does not exceed the values mentioned on the name plate (maximum 6 bar).

Electrical Connection

  • The water heater is pre-wired and tested. The primary connections must be performed according to the electrical diagram supplied with the heater.

Putting Into Operation

  • Check whether the voltage present is similar to the voltage on the name plate.
  • Check the electrical connections for tightness. Electrical connections can loosen during transport.
  • The heater must be properly de-aerated.
  • Check whether the connection housing is free from moisture and dirt.

Thermostats

  • The control thermostat has to be set to the desired water temperature.
  • The maximum safety thermostat can be reset after the sensor has had time to cool down to a level below the set temperature.

Switching On

  • The water heater must never be switched on without the water flow being switched on.

Switching Off

  • After the water heater has been switched off it is preferable to allow the systems circulation pump to keep running for a number of minutes. This will prevent the remaining heat in the elements to build up inside the heater which can cause the safety thermostat to function.

Maintenance And Cleaning

  • If the medium is polluted the inside of the water heater can be filled with drab and/or particles that can build up a layer on the heating elements. This will cause the heating elements to be insulated causing them to function improperly which can result in a burn out of the heating elements. It is advised to remove any depositions of dirt from the elements on a regular basis.
