Before use
- Wash the jug, lid and filler cap in hot soapy water. The blade at the base of the jug is very sharp and must be handled with the utmost care. The blade unit can be removed and washed separately. For more information, see “Cleaning and maintenance”.
Use a damp cloth to clean the motor section.
Use
The blender can be used for blending, chopping, puréeing and mixing e.g. milkshakes, baby food, soups and sauces. You can also crush ice for drinks, etc.
Assemble the blender after cleaning by first turning the glass jug upside down. Then slip the seal onto the blade unit. Position the blade unit in the base of the jug as per the illustration and screw the lock ring tightly onto the jug. Make sure that the lock ring is properly tightened, otherwise the blender will not start, as the lock ring will not activate the safety function. Make sure that the function dial is set to 0 and then place the jug onto the motor section so that the slots in the jug fit into the runners on the motor section. Check to ensure that the jug is straight and stable. The blender motor moves the blade at high speed in order to guarantee thorough mixing.
It is important, therefore, that the blender is always placed on a flat, dry surface before it is started. Also check that the jug is correctly positioned on the motor section, otherwise the blender will not start. Remember to place the lid and filler cap on the jug before starting the blender.
Fill the glass jug with the ingredients to be mixed and then place it onto the
motor section.
Plug in the blender and turn the function dial to the required programme or
speed. Start the mixing process by pressing the START/ STOP button. Each
function has a programmed process time (see under each function for more
details), but the mixing process can also be stopped manually by turning the
function dial to 0. The blender also has continuous speed adjustment that can
be activated by turning the function dial to the setting of your choice
between MIN and MAX. Then press the START/STOP button.
Blender functions:
-
Ice crushing
Add a maximum of 14 ice cubes to the blender jug. The blender operates in pulse intervals of around 33 seconds unless it is turned off manually at the switch or by turning the function dial to 0. -
Fruit/vegetables
The blender operates at an accelerating speed for around 1 minute unless it is turned off manually at the switch or by turning the function dial to 0. -
Smoothies
The blender operates at various alternating speeds for around 1 minute unless it is turned off manually at the switch or by turning the function dial to 0. -
Pulse
Use pulse mode (P) for short time intervals and for crushing ice. The pulse button must be kept depressed for the blender to operate. As soon as the button is released, the blender switches off. -
Continuous speed MIN-MAX The blender has continuous speed adjustment. Start at a low speed and gradually increase as required. Turn the function dial to the desired speed and start the mixing process using the START/STOP button. Switch the blender off by turning the function dial back to 0 or pressing the START/STOP button.
Once a programme has ended, turn the blender off and turn the function dial back to 0.
It is recommended that you try various speeds to work out what is best for the
ingredients
you are mixing. Always keep an eye on the mixing process and switch the
appliance off
once the required results have been reached. Always unplug the appliance after
use.
The blender must not be used for more than 3 minutes at a time. Then leave the blender to rest for 1 minute before restarting it (to avoid overheating).
Never remove the glass jug from the appliance when the motor is running.
- NOTE! Please note that the blender must not be started up with only dry ingredients inside (e.g. nuts), as this may break the appliance. Always add a splash of liquid before starting the blender.
Mixing hot liquids
- The glass jug can tolerate hot ingredients and liquids/soups. When hot liquids are added to a closed container (e.g. a blender jug with lid), high pressure forms automatically. There is a risk, therefore, that the lid will fly off during use and hot liquid will spray out. To avoid this, do the following:
- The temperature of the liquid to be added should not exceed 65°C.
- Fill the jug no more than half full with the desired ingredients (such as vegetables, root vegetables, etc.)
- Start the blender on the Fruit/vegetable programme and then slowly pour the liquid (hot stock, cream, or similar) through the hole in the lid. Do not switch the blender off while doing this. If the blender is switched off with hot liquid in it, and is then restarted, pressure may form from the bottom due to the high speed of the motor, causing the lid to fly off and hot liquid to splash out.
- If, despite everything, the blender is turned off during the above process and needs to be restarted, keep one hand on the lid – using a towel/pot holder or similar – and watch out
for any splashes of hot liquid. It is only hot liquid that must not be mixed because the
pressure in the jug gets too high.
IMPORTANT! We do not recommend mixing frozen berries/fruits on their own, as they can easily freeze into a lump and then block the blades.
If you want to add other ingredients or liquid during use, you can, provided the mixing process is stopped before the cap or entire lid is removed. Make sure that the ingredients to be added are not too thick or too heavy for the motor to process. If necessary, add a little liquid through the lid if the motor is struggling or stop the mixing process and scrape the mixture toward the blade using a rubber scrapper
MAKE SURE THAT THE LID AND FILLER CAP ARE BOTH IN PLACE ON THE JUG BEFORE RESTARTING THE BLENDER!
IMPORTANT! Use tepid water to clean the glass jug after mixing ice cubes, as the jug will be chilled and hot water may create stress in the glass and cause cracks.
Overheating
The blender is equipped with a thermostat to ensure that the appliance has a
long service life.
It is activated if the motor becomes overloaded. If the thermostat is
activated, turn off the appliance and unplug it. Wait 30 minutes before
restarting the appliance. Clean the parts as instructed in “Cleaning and
maintenance”.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug before cleaning. Important! Always clean the blender jug after use. This is to avoid the jug discolouring. All parts of the blender jug are dishwasher-safe apart from the blade unit, which must be washed carefully by hand – note that the blades are very sharp. Carefully dry all the parts before putting them away. Do not use abrasive cleaning products. Remove any stubborn stains by soaking and rubbing with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Use a damp clot when cleaning the motor section. Dry thoroughly before reusing the appliance or putting it away.
You can also clean the blender jug by pouring around 300 ml of water into the jug along with a few drops of washing-up liquid and then running the ice crushing programme for 30 seconds. Then rinse the jug carefully with clean water.
Remove the blade unit from the glass jug and clean it separately as follows: Place the glass jug upside down and twist off the lock ring at the bottom of the jug by turning it anticlockwise. Lift the blade unit out of the glass jug and clean the unit and the seal with care. The blade uni can be washed in a dishwasher. Dry carefully afterwards. Note that the blades are very sharp.
Replace the blade unit and seal in the hole in the glass jug afterwards.
Secure them in place by turning the lock ring clockwise. Make sure that you
secure the lock ring properly.
Then replace the glass jug on the motor section.
IMPORTANT! THE MOTOR SECTION MUST NEVER BE IMMERSED IN ANY LIQUID!
Disposing of the appliance
By law, electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for the
recycling of components. Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the
waste management symbol must
be disposed of at a municipal recycling point.
