User Manual

Thank you for choosing Xcellon.
The Xcellon BT5A offers Bluetooth 5.0 for PC computers that don’t have built- in Bluetooth support, or are running older versions of Bluetooth.
Follow the instructions below to download and install the necessary drivers to get started.

Precautions

• Please read and follow these instructions, and keep this manual in a safe place.
• USB transfer speeds can vary due to system configuration as well as factors such as the host device’s processing speed and file attributes.
• Factors such as the volume of network traffic, building material and construction, and network overhead may result in lower data transfer speeds and wireless range.
• IEEE 802.11ac specifications for network speeds and bandwidth can vary due to network and service provider considerations, interface type, and other factors.
• All images are for illustrative purposes only.

Before You Begin

If your computer has a previously installed Bluetooth driver, follow these steps to disable it before connecting the BT5A.

1. Open Window’s Device Manager.
2. Locate the driver in the Bluetooth dropdown. Right-click on it and select disable device.

If there is no Bluetooth driver in the Device Manager window, skip to Installing the Bluetooth 5.0 Driver.

Installing the Bluetooth 5.0 Driver

Go to www.xcellongear.com/downloads, select BT5A from the dropdown and click on the download for your computer’s operating system.

Windows 7, 8, and 10

1. Locate the .exe file and double-click it to run the installer.
2. Insert the BT5A into an available USB port on your computer, and click OK to continue the installation.
3. Click Next to continue.
4. Select Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and click Finish to complete the installation.
   Linux
   Locate the Readme.txt file and follow the instructions to install the driver.

One-Year Limited Warranty

This Xcellon product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The warranty provider’s responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement, at the provider’s discretion, of any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider. If the product has been discontinued, the warranty provider reserves the right to replace it with a model of equivalent quality and function.

This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, THE WARRANTY PROVIDER MAKES NEITHER ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES NOR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights, and you may also have additional rights that vary from state to state.

To obtain warranty coverage, contact the Xcellon Customer Service Department to obtain a return merchandise authorization (“RMA”) number, and return the defective product to Xcellon along with the RMA number and proof of purchase. Shipment of the defective product is at the purchaser’s own risk and expense.
