Range of Application

Body temperature of the subject is shown by measuring heat radiation from the forehead.

Display

Setting Adjustment

This product provides the function settings including the temperature unit, measuring mode, and so on. The measuring mode is set by the Set button, and the other settings are set in the Set Menu.

The table of Set Menu is as follows:
Tips:

1. Press the “Set” button, switch between body temperature measurement and object temperature measurement.
2. Press the “Set” button for 5 seconds, the screen displays: F1; Then short press the “Set” button again, the screen displays: F2; After that, short press the “Set” button again, the screen displays: F3; Then short press the “Set” button again, the screen displays: F4; Finally, short press the “Set” button again, auto-save and power off.

Use Method

Correct use is the key for measurement accuracy and wrong use will cause measurement error. With consideration of high requirement of infrared for surrounding environment, please follow the instructions as follows:

1. Press measurement button to turn it on. After the full display of 1 second with the display of “-°C”, the thermometer enters the standby status (standby time is 10 seconds and the machine is turned off automatically 10 seconds later.) User may press the measurement button for temperature measurement in standby status and measurement will take about 1 second.

2. User should point the product at the right center of forehead – the area above middle of eyebrows and maintain the vertical status of product. No hair blocking is allowed in measurement area. Distance between the product and the forehead is 3cm-5cm as recommended.
   Warm tips: if the measured area (forehead) cannot be guaranteed to remain in the constant environment, it is suggested to choose body part not exposed in the air (such as chest or abdomen).

3. When measured person comes from a place where there is a big difference with the environment temperature,
   he/she should stay in the measurement environment for at least 5 minutes, and measurement can only start until environment temperature is consistent. Otherwise, the result will be affected.

4. If a fever patient has sweating on the forehead and adopts cold compresses and other temperature reduction measures, the result of body temperature measurement will be lower. Try not to measure body temperature under such circumstances.

5. Please place the product in the service environment for 30 minutes before use if the product is taken out from the environment with huge temperature difference from measurement environment.

6. Please ensure the stable environment around the measured person. No temperature measurement should be done in fan and air – conditioning outlets and other areas with large airflow.

7. Do not use the product in direct sunlight.

8. It is suggested to measure three times and the data of largest number shall prevail.

9. Please choose “body temperature” mode while measuring forehead temperature and please choose “object temperature” mode while measuring temperature of other objects, liquids and food, etc.

Notes

• Follow the maintenance recommendations in this manual.
• The product is applicable to professional purpose or family purpose.
• Please keep the product out of reach of children.
• Environment temperature of product use is between 15 °C and 35 °C.
• Product must be kept clean in a dry place.
• Do not place the thermometer where there is an electric shock.
• Do not place the thermometer in the place with extreme temperature: above 50 °C or lower than -20 °C.
• Do not place the thermometer in the place with humidity above 95%.
• Do not expose infrared probe in sunlight or water.
• Do not drop the product.
• Do not repair the product in case of any problem and please contact the dealer.
• Do not use the product in the place with electromagnetic interference.
• Please dispose of the waste and residue at the end of the service life of the product according to local laws and regulations.

Battery Installation and Maintenance

Use two AA alkaline batteries and please pay attention to the positive and negative electrodes in installation.

1. The product uses two AA alkaline batteries. When the battery symbol “” appears and flashes on the screen, the battery has insufficient power and user needs to replace the battery.
2. Open the battery cover to replace batteries and pay attention to the positive and negative electrodes.
3. If the product is idle for a long time, user is suggested to take out the batteries to avoid battery leakage and product damage.

Daily Maintenance

Normal use of the product does not require frequent maintenance. When the following is found, please follow the instructions as follows.

1. External Dirt: use clean and soft cloth wipe dirty place by dipping the cloth in water, or use a cotton swab to wipe the dirty place by dipping the cotton swab in medical alcohol. Wiping with medical alcohol has functions of sterilization and disinfection. Do not use too much water or alcohol to avoid product damage caused by flow of water or alcohol inside the product.
2. Internal Dirt: infrared probe inside the product is an important component. User is not allowed to touch or press it with fingers or other objects. Otherwise, measurement precision will be affected. When dirt is found in infrared probe, user should dip a cotton swab in 95% absolute alcohol to swipe the infrared probe.
   Note: Do not use 75% disinfection ethanol to wipe infrared probe (water mark will be left).
   Do not use other chemical agents to wipe infrared probe (they will cause damage to infrared probe).

Frequently-asked Question 1: Is the product harmful for human body? Is there any radiation of this product?
Answer: the principle of this product is to calculate body temperature through the collection of infrared radiated by human body. The product does not directly contact human body. Therefore, it will not cause any cross- infection of human body. The contact-free thermometer produced by our company has no radiation for human body. Therefore, the product is harmless to human body and consumers can be rest assured to use this product.

Frequently-asked Question 2: What is the overall temperature offset setting function of the product for?
Answer: the overall temperature offset setting function of the product is for temperature calibration. If your product is used for groups in public areas (such as schools, airports, and customs, etc., with large crowds), you will not need this function. The product has already been calibrated before leaving the factory and you need only to press the measurement button; if your product is used for family (such as kids) and you hope to obtain a more accurate body temperature effect, it is suggested to use mercury or electronic contact thermometer for calibration when the product is used for the first time. Specific method is as follows: compare measurement value of mercury thermometer and measurement value of this product under the same condition. If measurement value of this product is 0.2°C lower, user needs to increase 0.2°C of the original “F3” value, and if measurement value of this product is 0.2°C higher, user needs to decrease 0.2°C of the original “F3” value.

Frequently-asked Question 3: Alarm is sent when this product is used to measure body temperature of all people. Is this quality problem?
Answer: it is the problem of product setting. With the reference to the manual, user may adjust the overall temperature offset value to the default value. Specifically speaking, set the overall temperature offset value as 0.0. Users may directly contact after-sales service center in case of any other problems. In addition, user should set the alarm temperature within the reasonable range.

Special Storage Condition and Method

Product must be kept clean in a dry place. Do not place the thermometer where there is an electric shock. Do not keep the thermometer in extreme temperatures above 50°C or below -20°C with humidity above 95%.
