When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the ppliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children. DO NOT allow the appliance to be used by children. Close supervision is necessary when used near children.

This appliance is for household use only. DO NOT use this appliance for anything other than its intended use. DO NOT use in moving vehicles or boats. DO NOT use outdoors. Misuse may cause injury.

Ensure the surface is level, clean and dry. DO NOT place the appliance near the edge of a countertop

ALWAYS ensure the appliance is properly assembled before use.

DO NOT use the appliance if there is damage to the power cord or plug. Regularly inspect the appliance

DO NOT place appliance and let cord hang over edges of tables, counters or touch hot surfaces.

Only use recommended accessories included with this appliance or authorized by SharkNinja. The use
of accessories or attachments not recommended by SharkNinja may cause a risk of fire or injury. -
Before placing any accessory into the cooker, ensure they are clean and dry.

DO NOT use the appliance without the removable cooking pot and splatter
shield installed. -
ALWAYS ensure hood is fully closed before operating.

DO NOT move the appliance when in use.

DO NOT cover the air intake vent or air outlet vent while unit is operating. Doing so will prevent even cooking and may damage the unit or cause it to overheat.

DO NOT touch hot surfaces. Appliance surfaces are hot during and after operation. To prevent burns or personal injury, ALWAYS use protective hot pads or insulated oven mitts and use available
handles and knob -
DO NOT touch accessories during or immediately after cooking. The grill grate and basket becomes extremely hot during the cooking process. Avoid physical contact while removing the accessory from the appliance. To prevent burns or personal injury ALWAYS use care when interfacing with product. Recommend use of long handed utensil and protective hot pads or insulated oven mitts.

DO NOT use this appliance for deep-frying.

DO NOT place hands near Foodi™ Smart Thermometer cord when in use to prevent burning or scalding.

The Foodi Smart Thermometer does NOT replace an external food thermometer.

To prevent possible illness, ALWAYS use an external food thermometer to check that your food is cooked to the recommended temperatures.

Should a grease fire occur or the unit emits black smoke, unplug immediately. Wait for smoking to stop before removing any cooking accessories.

Please refer to the Cleaning & Maintenance section for regular maintenance of the appliance.

To disconnect, turn unit to “off”, then unplug from socket when not in use and before cleaning.

Allow to cool before cleaning, dissasembly, putting in or taking off parts and storage.

DO NOT clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children.

DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids

GETTING TO KNOW THE NINJA® FOODI™ SMART XL GRILL
NOTE: Not all functions included in each model
FUNCTION BUTTONS
GRILL Grill indoors while creating even char, grill marks, and grilled
flavor.
AIR CRISP For crispiness and crunch with little to no oil.
BAKE Bake cakes, treats, desserts, and more.
ROAST Tenderize meats, roast vegetables,and more.
DEHYDRATE Dehydrate meats, fruits, and vegetables for healthy snacks.
BROIL Add the crispy finishing touch to meals or melt cheese on
sandwiches.
OPERATING BUTTONS
POWER button Once the unit is plugged in, press the power ** button to
turn on the unit. Pressing it during cooking stops the current cooking
function and turns off the unit.
Left arrows Use the up and down arrows to the left of the display to
adjust the cooking temperature in any function or to set the internal doneness
when using PRESET and MANUAL buttons.
Right arrows** Use the up and down arrows to the right of the display to
set the food type when using PRESET or to adjust
the cook time when not cooking with the Foodi Smart Thermometer.
MANUAL button Switches the display screen so you can manually set the thermometer internal doneness. Manual button does not work with Dehydrate function.
PRESET button Switches the display screen so you can set the thermometer, food type, and internal doneness based on the preset temperatures. Preset button does not work with Dehydrate function.
NOTE: To adjust the temperature or time during cooking, press the up and down arrows. The unit will then resume at those settings.
START/STOP button After selecting temperature and time, press the
START/STOP button to begin cooking.
Standby Mode If there has been no interaction with the control panel for
10 minutes and the unit is not cooking, the unit will go into Standby Mode and
the control panel will dim.
Preheat If the unit is preheating, it will be indicated by a progress bar
on the display screen and the PREHEAT button will illuminate. To turn off
Preheat, press the PREHEAT button while the grill is in
preheat state. ADD FOOD will display

What accessories come with the grill?
Buster B is comparing 2 different items. The item he is talking about is the Power XL Air Fryer Grill by TriStar. It comes with the grill plate, air flow mesh basket, stainless steel rack, rotisserie spit, and Eric’s Recipe Book. I’ve also seen the infomercial with what Buster stated. There is even a different package offered on an “as seen on TV” web site The infomercial price is 3 payments of $49.99. The Ninja FG551 Foodi Smart XL 6 in 1 Indoor Grill is an entirely different product by a different manufacturer.
Is the air crisper basket as deep as the original Ninja Foodi?
No it is not, it is shallow but longer. They are both 4 qt baskets.
Can it be plugged into a power strip or does it have to be directly to wall outlet?
It can be plugged in a power strip but you can’t run more than one appliance on a 110-120v outlet at a time or it’ll trip the circuit
I see the package dimensions. What are the actual (out of the box) dimensions?

Yes
How big is the grilling surface?
It’s 9×14.
How thick of a steak can you grill?
As thick or thin as you like.
What happens to grease from meat?
If you are using the grill to cook meat then the grill plate is laid over the
drip pan/air fry pan insert of the Ninja. It will
catch any grease drippings and prevent it from making a mess in the bottom of
the grill.
How much does it weigh?
We would like to let you know this unit weighs approximately 22.44 lbs.

Is there a baking accessory package that fits into the 6 in 1 foodi grill xl?

Does it take more time in this Foodi to air fry crisp than it does in a smaller air fryer?
This system will air fry in the same amount of time as other air fryers.
Do the included accessories all fit under the hood? I feel like it’s an IQ test and I’ve massively failed…
if you mean all at once for storage purposes the answer is NO. you will be finding a spot in your cupboard for either the fryer basket or the grill plate.
Does it make smoke when grilling?
It recommends that you use a high smoke point oil to prevent smoking. Oils
with high smoke point for example are:
avocado oil, grape seed oil, and rice oil. These oils will not cause any
smoking they can be heated up to 460-490 degrees without causing smoke. I use
pure avocado oil and rice seed oil. Been using my XL 4 in 1 now for a month
and have not experienced any smoke. I have roasted a pot roast, turkey breast,
air fry wings, and grilled steaks and burgers and no smoke at all.
Can you get replacement grill and spatter screen?

How many burgers can you get on it?
It depends on how big your patties are.
Is there a tray that collect juices? How easy is it to clean?
The tray is easy to clean, however the lid and the working mechanism is not. This is a major problem for me. COULD USE SOME HELP with this.
