Read the precautions before your operation.

Power supply for device is 3. 7V rechargeable lithium battery.
Disconnect the 5V 1 A Charger when complete charging in fear of danger.
Please use battery according to the specification; otherwise, it may result in damage to equipment.
Never put the equipment in the place with much dust, humidity and high temperature (over40″C).
Please never dismount the equipment arbitrarily. The maintain -ance and care shall be conducted by professional personnel.
Users can set the auto-off time according to his own needs.
Please take out the battery in launcher and receiver if the equipment is not used for a long time so as to prevent that the battery liquid is leaked in future.
Never use the equipment to detect power cord with electricity (such as power supply circuit of 220V), otherwise, it may result in damage to equipment and personal injury.
Never conduct related operation of communication line in thunderstorm weather so as to prevent lightning stroke and Impact on personal safety.

1. Brief Introduction

NF-309 is a new developed cable tester. It is for testing the network cable continuity , length material , and identify which pins are providing power cable. It can also locate the the network , telephone and coaxial cable. It is a utility tool in the cable intallation field.

2. Main functions

Network cable and Coaxial cable continuity test:
Trace network , telephone and coaxial cable:
Measuring the network and coaxial cable length and breakpoint. Length measuring accuracy is more than 98% and 2000meters;
Measure the cable material for cats, cat6 & non-standard Ian cable;
Test cable resistance connect with the remote unit;
Measure the distance that a cable can provide PoE;
POE function :identify which pins provide the power;
LED lights assist use in dark enviroment while cable scanning.

4.Function & Operation

Turn on the device, it will show the below picture;

There are four functions to be chosen on the main menu

Continuity – Testing the network cable status, such as open , short , cross etc.
Length/ Material – Mearsuring the network cable length, breakpoint and testing cable material.
Scan – locating the network , telephone and Coaxial cable.
Setting – set the time of backlight and auto off.

Notice:

Calibration – Use a cable more at least 10m to do the calibration firstly before measuring the length. It will make the length measure more accurate . And there are 6 datas can be saved in the the device ..
Load Data – the saved data can be loaded out before measuring length.

5.Testing Method

Continuity testing – main to remote . put one side into the main port and another side to the remote RJ45 port, start test. Operate as the picture shows:
Scan – main unit to receiver . put the cable into scan port andthe receiver is used in finding the target cable. As the picture shows:
Length testing – put one side into the main port, disconnect the far end of the cable. As picture shows:
Cable material testing – Main tester to remote. Firstly, put the cable to the main port and testing the cable length. Then, put the same cable into the material port of the main tester and
another side into the material port of the remote. The result can be show on the LCD screen:
Power supply (POE ) testing – Remote. Use the remote to testing the POE. Put one side of the cable into POE port of the remote, another side connected to POE switch. It will show
which pin has the power on . As the picture shows:

6. Cable Scaning

.Step 1, turn on the tester, connect the cable to the scan port of the tester, and then choose the “SCAN function from the main
menu, enter the function . Like picture shows:
Find cable on POE switch. Follow the step 1. And press “Enter”again, then you will see POE scanning. Then use the receiver to find the target cable which connected to POE switch. Like picture shows:
Telephone cable scanning . Put the telephone cable into the RJ45 scan port, start testing. Like picture shows:

7.Continuity testing

lt can test the continuity of the network cable and coaxial cable. Let us do test the network cable as example. Put oneside of the network cable into main port and another to remote RJ45. Start testing. If the cable is good, it will show as picture shows:
There are 3 testing results shows if the cable is not good, Open, Short, Cross: a. Open – like picture shows that means 1 2 pins open.

B Cross- if cable testing like picture shows, then 1 and 2 pin crossed.

c. Short – if cable shows like picture that means short.

d.lf open and short status happend in the same time, the device will show short firstly. please notice to fix the short problem then test again.like picture shows.

a. Length/ Material testing

Network cable length testing: put one side into the main port , disconnect the far end of the cable. Choose the length testing function,and choose the cable type. Start testing. The result will
come out, if the cable is broken, then it can show the break point
Network cable material testing : After testing the cable length, put one side of the cable into material port ,another side to the remote material port. Enter the material test function . The cable material , cable resistance, Power cable distance can be show as pictures shows.
