Usage and safety instructions

  • Please read the user manual completely and thoroughly before using the product for the first time. The manual contains important information for your safety as well as for using the product.

Functional scope

The programmable socket thermostat is suitable for controlling the room temperature using heating devices such as electric heaters or radiators, thanks to an exact-degree switching.

The device is a temperature-dependent switching socket, which measures the actual room temperature and regulates it up to the individually adjustable set point value.

3 different heating modes can be programmed with different temperatures. In automatic mode, the socket thermostat measures the current room temperature in the specified period and automatically switches the connected heaters on or off, in order to maintain the desired room temperature. The device comes with an individually adjustable 7-day programming. Up to 24 activation times can be adjusted per day.

The socket thermostat also comes with frost protection. The connected device is switched on when the room temperature drops below the previously adjusted value. The anti-frost function can be used regardless of whether any other activation times are programmed, or the device is in standby. The EEPROM memory function retains the adjusted temperature data even if the power fails or the power is disconnected.

Initial use

Take the device out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Check that the product and the components are intact and that the device is working
properly when using it for the first time Connect the thermostat to a properly installed socket. The device is then ready for use.

Advanced parameter settings

Note: First, carry out the basic settings (chapters 8, 9 and 10), before changing the
advanced parameter settings.

Press the “M & +” keys simultaneously in the switched off state to access the parameter setting. You can access the respective parameters (01-07) using the “M key”. If you want to adjust the setting, you can do so using “+” and “-“.

Note: To calibrate the temperature, take another thermometer as the temperature reference and compare the measured temperatures. Press the “M & +” keys simultaneously in switched off state. Start with parameter 1. You can now calibrate the temperature of the thermostat using the “+” and “-“ keys.

Basic heating mode settings

Note: The settings define the target temperature. If the measured ambient temperature is below the adjusted value of the mode, the socket thermostat is activated, until the target temperature is reached or the mode/target temperature is changed.

First adjust the target temperatures of the heating modes. The temperatures can be adjusted as follows:

Switch the device on using the “ON/OFF” key. Then press and hold the “M” key for 3 about seconds. The comfort mode is displayed (Figure 1, page 9). Change the temperature setting using the “+” and “-“ keys.

By pressing the “M” key again, you can change to the power saving mode settings
(Figure 2, page 10), and vacation mode (Figure 3, page 10). Even here, you can
change the temperature using the “+” and “-“ keys.

After making the settings, you return to the main menu.

Operating modes

The following table shows all the thermostat modes. The modes can be activated/ changed by briefly pressing the “M” key.

The target temperature can be temporarily changed using the “+” and “-“ keys.
The basic settings are not overwritten. The temperature remains active until the mode is changed or a new switch-over is programmed in automatic mode.

Example:

The following diagram shows a heating curve as an example. The comfort mode is active from 8:00 to 22:00. The power saving mode (ECO Mode) is active from 22:00 to 8:00.

he thermostat provides the option of configuring the heating mode depending on the day of the week and the time. One temperature mode (power saving mode or comfort mode) can be adjusted for each hour.

Time Hour

The target temperature should be configured in advance (see page 9 in the chapter 8 “Basic heating mode settings”).

Warning: Read this configuration section completely before you start the programming. The program closes automatically after about 25 seconds.

  1. Switch the device on, press and hold the “P” key for about 3 seconds.

  2. The configuration starts with the current time setting and the day of the
    week.

  3. The value to be adjusted starts flashing. You can change the values using the “+” and “-” keys. You can go to the next menu item using the “P” key.

  4.  Adjust the minutes (A) and hours (B) of the current time. Then, the day display (C) at the top starts flashing. This sets the current day of the week (Monday-Sunday) using the numbers 1 to 7. 1 = Monday, 2 = Tuesday, 3 = Wednesday, etc.

  5.  By pressing the “P” key again you can program the activation times. This is indicated by the text “PRG. Weekday (D) “.

  6.  The programming starts with Monday as the day of the week. This is apparent when the number 1 (E) is displayed. Configure the desired heating modes for every hour (0 – 23) of this day of week.

  7.  Each program begins with the hour 0 of 24 ” “.

  8.  Adjust the heating modes (comfort or ECO) using the “M” key which you want to start at 0:00-0:59. Using the “+” key, you can toggle through the hour to be configured, until you reach the hour at which you want to change the mode.

  9. Change the mode and toggle through the hours until the next heat mode change. You can individually configure every hour from 0-23 hrs.

  10. The hours in which the comfort mode is active are shown symbolically on the display. Hours in which the power saving mode (ECO Mode) is active remain open.

  11. By pressing the “P” key, you can access the configuration of the next day of the  week – The number (E) changes.

  12. Repeat the programming as described above for each day of the week.

Note: Before configuring, it is advisable to note down the times (start time and end time + mode, which needs to be activated) and then carry out the configuration using the notes.

The device automatically stores the programmed values. The configured data is retained even in the event of power failure or power disconnection.

Example:

The following diagram shows Tuesday as an example. The comfort mode is active from 0:00 to 1:59, from 5:00 to 7:59, 10:00 to 11:59, 14:00 to 18:59 and from 21:00 to 23:59.

Cleaning Instructions

Clean the thermostat with a dry cotton cloth. Make sure that the product is switched off and completely disconnected from the mains. Never use any chemical cleaning agents. Never use liquids which could damage the surface of the
product such as scouring milk.

Safety instructions and disclaimer

  • Never try to open the device to repair or make modifications. Avoid contact with the mains voltage.

  • Do not short-circuit the product.

  • The device is not waterproof, hence please use it only in dry surroundings.

  • Protect it from high humidity, water and snow.

  • Keep the device away from high temperatures.

  • Do not expose the device to sudden changes in temperature or strong vibrations, as this could damage the electronic components.

  • Check the device for any damage before using it.

  • The device should not be used if it was subject to impact or has been damaged in some other manner.

  • Please comply with the local regulations and restrictions.

  • Do not use the device for purposes other than those described in the user manual.

  • This product is not a toy.

  • Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally disabled persons.

  • Any repair or modifications to the device, which is not carried out by the
    original supplier will void any warranty and guarantee claims.

  • The device should only be used by those who have read and understood this user manual.

  • The specifications of the device may be changed without prior intimation.

Disposal instructions

In line with the European WEEE directive, electrical and electronic devices should not be disposed of along with domestic waste.
